Ok, I agree the little flap is a bit rickety, but if you're going to use it for Tivo (like me) then you're going to set it up once and then it's going to be sitting behind your Tivo for a year or more. So as long as you're somewhat careful (it is, after all, a piece of technology, not a football) then it will work fine for you. I've had mine for over a year now, and I've changed my configuration a few times with no problems.
And by the way, mine is a version 2.0 and worked flawlessly with Tivo!
For the price, a good product!

I broke my ethernet port connection on my Mac mother board. So, this was a very cost effective solution to the problem. To get the component to work, one needs to install two different drivers. Other than that the pop-up port for the ethernet plug is a little flaky and I had to fix it a couple of times. Next time I would purchase an adapter with a fixed ethernet port.

It's great that this adaptor is simply plug-and-play and works perfectly with my Series2 TiVo, however the little door is pretty annoying and I currently have tape wrapped around it to hold the ethernet cord in. I needed this EtherFast USB2.0 10/100 Network Adapter for my Tivo. This is a very small item which is easy to install and works great! But, be careful when handling it. When I was installing another devise, I had to move some cables and the cover came off! Without the cover it does not work. I found the cover and snapped it back in place. Ordered this to connect an old Tivo series 2 to my home network. After reading other reviews warning of the flimsy cap (which sure seemed to be true!) I was very careful when connecting it and as long as I don't jostle the cables behind all the equipment unnecessarily it looks like it should hold the ethernet cable in place just fine.
