Mine is the typical story here. I needed more network ports than my existing Linksys WRT54G wireless router had. I simply took this switch out of the box, plugged it in, hooked one end of a network cable in to the router and the other in to the uplink port of the switch and I was off an running. I really like the size which is about half is big as my router. The status indicator lights on the front are great too; some other brands put these lights on the back. Love it!!! Me and my family had to share the ethernet cord to have internet! Im like I GOTTA DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! So we asked our internet provider and...he's like theres no other way to connect multi computers together without wireless! AND I SAID NO I must find a way! and so i did! WOOOOOO THANK YOU Linksys! But yea everythin works smooth and nice we have been sharing internet for like 3-4 months now and its GREAT! so wana share computer internet or Net gaming?? If you have a wired connection to your router, and want to branch it to other equipment - this works fine, fast and easily. I bought a DHP-301 to bring my router "downstairs" via the electrical system in my house, and then bought this switch to allow multiple connections in my home office. Not only is it doing the job very well, but I was able to install it myself (without paying for a network administrator) - a huge plus. Linksys has come a long way.Customer Review: Review

I love Linksys networking equipment and this is no exception. The only thing I disliked about this switch is that it was not stackable with my existing Wireless Access Point (Linksys). I bought this switch assuming it would be stackable with my existing Linksys equipment. I think that Linksys does make a larger switch that will stack with the larger equipment. My only complaint is the lights on the front are in reverse order from the cables at the back, but they are all numbered correctly anyway. Instead of a crossover switch for the uplink there is an extra port, so don't try to use all six plugs at once! ;)A pleasant surprise for me was this *switch* cost me half of what I paid a couple years ago for a (now-dead) 5-port dual-speed *hub* (by another brand).
