I've had one of these switches in service on my home network for 2 years now. So when an old hub I was using quit, I bought another one of these to replace it. It's a quality switch that should deliver years of trouble-free operation. For those not familiar with network gear, a switch expands your network (providing ports for additional computers, printers, etc.) to be plugged into the network far more efficiently than hubs. If you currently use a hub and you upgrade to a switch like this one, you won't be disappointed.Customer Review: Excellent Unit...Great for LAN Parties and Home Networking!

This Unit is great. There simply was no configuring. Just plugged it in and everything was set and running! I used this at home to share Internet with 3 computers and it's fast and awesome. I also took this baby to a LAN party and hooked it up to 4 computers and used the uplink to the main hub. A total of 9 computers and half of which are using my Switch. And all the time, this Switch got the job done without any hassles! If you're looking for a descent network sharing device for 5 or less computers, this is it!Customer Review: Well well well! Having been hooked up via a Netgear hub for the past two years, I wondered if I could gain any networking improvements by installing a switch. I was concerned by some articles relating to their 'configuration' however. Well, as one reviewer has already said, "it took longer to take it out of the box than to install it!". Hooked up the four workgroup PCs and VOILA........everything just came back up as though nothing had been altered, EXCEPT for the new SPEEEEEED!Don't hesitate on buying this little beauty!

This switch is an excellent choice for LAN parties and home networks where wireless access and internet routing are not important. I've never had any trouble using this switch, and you have instant connectivity the second you plug in. It has a sixth port for uplink to another switch etc..., this is helpful for expansion. It is rather small, and I find myself buying a bigger one now... So, you can save money by buying a big one first instead of buying a small one and expanding with another small one later.Customer Review: could not be any easier

as long as what you need is a switch (takes an ip address from a router and shares it among multiple devices) and not a router, this thing is perfect. It is the only networking device I've ever set up based solely on the picture on the back of the box. It took longer to unpack than to get set up. I have two different computers at work and only one network jack, so I put the network feed into the switch and cabled in the two computers. Works great and no performance issues at all. Love it.
