I had one initial problem upon trying to install this product for the first time, but after that small issue was resolved, I am pleased to say this prodcut is wonderful. It allows my mac to run so much faster as all of the files that would normally slow my machine down are carried on this detachable drive. I have more room on the drive than I do my computer and I recommend this product for anyone who wants to achieve the same thing. It's a great product at a great price.Customer Review: Great Drive

This is a great little drive. I needed something portable that I could put in my laptop bag and lug around with me. My last Lacie drive was a shear work horse so I looked to them again. Unfortunately for me, once I received the drive I realized that I needed to have 2 firewire 400 slots so I could daisy chain a few things together. This drive does not have that feature so I had to return it. I replaced it with another Lacie drive and really am happy with it so far.Customer Review: LaCie portable hard drive

This is the second LaCie portable drive that I have purchased. It is reliable. I like that it has several connection ports, so that I can connect it to more than one drive and use various cords with it. I would like LaCie to offer additional bright colors for the rubber exterior which would make it easy to spot in my brief case, and distinguish one drive from the other. I had this brand of hard drive recommended to me by professionals and was very pleased to find it at 500 GB capacity with both firewire options available for a great price. So far I have backed up all of my information on it and am happy with the speed it has when using the firewire connections. Using just the USB port makes things slow down considerably when transferring mpegs or and photo files, but that is to be expected. I bought the 500 GB option, and it worked great with my Macbook Pro. This is the first backup drive I have ever used, and it was very easy. It also didn't have to be re-formated to work with my MAC like some of the other drives I researched. It is also very small, compact, comes with a variety of cables so you can choose how to connect it to your computer, it's protective, and it's orange so it matches all my furniture LOL. I give it 5 stars.
