I have owned numerous LaCie drives in the past and have (had?) a good opinion of the company, so I assumed this cable would be way better than the no-name imported Firewire 400-800 cable I bought a few months earlier (which, by the way, continues to work just fine, thank you very much.)
Over the last few months I have wasted so many tens of minutes of setup time trying to track down intermittent problems because of this damn cable. It often works. On alternate Tuesdays, if it's not raining. If I plug in my peripherals in THIS order and not THAT order. The moment I post this review, my cats will be presented with a new orange kitty tease.
I thought a flat cable from a respected company made sense for a lot of reasons. Stick with the traditional, and avoid this one at all costs.
