The mouse does everything its supposed to. I don't mind the smaller size at all and I'm a big guy at 6'2". Make sure you download the software for it since its the only way to get a good balance between mouse speed and touchpad speed - and you get the horizontal scrolling by tilting the wheel. The logitech download is a bit confusing though. Find the download for the cordless mouse. It should be about 50mb. The smaller file doesn't do anything useful.
If all your usb ports are on the side of the laptop you might consider the model with the really small usb dongle since it is a bit annoying sticking out on the side. However, given the price difference I'm still pleased with the choice.

. This is a great mouse, it is a standard small mini mouse which is great for a woman with small hands or for use with laptops on the go because the smaller size is more compact for packing up your laptop gear. I use a mini mouse on my laptop and I am a guy but even with larger hands these smaller mice are more user friendly than the standard size desktop mouse. I bought this one for my wife for her desktop and she LOVES IT!
. It comes with the software but that isn't really needed, it goes auto pilot install with Win XP when you plug it in XP does the automatic new item discovered, HID, then installs it....... Great product, don't be afraid to buy it.

I bought a Microsoft wireless notebook optical mouse 3000, I had to reset, link-up the mouse to the stick. I was considering going to a corded mouse because it was very aggravating. My Godson made that decision for me and broke the stick. I went to BestBuy because I could not stand not having a mouse for my laptop and could not wait the 2 days for Amazon. I am writing this review because i ran across my microsoft wireless mouse and it dawned on my that I have not had any issues with this mouse since buying it. I paid 12.99 at Bestbuy and as always its cheaper on Amazon. You will not be sorry for purchasing this wireless mouse. BTW I have a HP Pavivion DV6. .Customer Review: Top quality mouse

I bought this mouse when I got tired of my older wired laptop mouse. They are both Logitech and of the highest quality. I use a lot of 3D CAD programs and having a good mouse definitely speeds up the process. I really like how the USB bungle attaches to the bottom of the mouse for storage. When attaching the bungle it turns the mouse off to save battery from unintentional clicks or movement, and then turns it on when you remove it.
The only downfall of this mouse is the rubber grip on the sides which is a little hard to clean when it catches dust or lint. Doesn't happen often, but I'm a clean freak with my computers and electronics.

This mouse lived up to the Logitech name. It feels very durable and is indeed a very travel-worthy mouse.
I've dealt with other mice where the USB transmitter snaps in, but during travel, the transmitter will pop out, but with this mouse, it slides and then locks in, which definitely aids my prior issue with wireless notebook mice.
The only thing that I find to be a downside to this mouse is the fact that I love having a few extra buttons, especially one on the side of the mouse for going "Back" in a web browser. I find them extremely useful, but this mouse is great for the money and great for basic notebook usage.
