You know, I could have paid almost 5 times as much for this mouse at my neighborhood office supply store! But why would I when I have Amazon? The mouse installed in seconds (literally like maybe 2 to 4 seconds) and doesn't need any software or drivers or anything like that. It took me a few minutes however, to find the battery compartment (on top), but inserting the battery was not a problem. I really like how when you insert the receiver into the mouse, it automatically slides the power button to the "off" position because that could save me trouble when I forget to turn it off myself. And it even slides to "on" when you take it out. Overall this is just a really great mouse.
My only beef with it is that it is slightly smaller than I would have liked, but I have mammoth sized hands (more than likely, larger than yours), so it might not apply to you. But seriously, you can't find a better price from such a well respected brand!

Logitech makes quality computer products and this mouse is one example.
Installation is literally plug and play, though you can download software from the Logitech site if you want. The mouse looks nice, is compact for travel, works well, and conveniently stores the USB stick underneath when not in use, which also turns the mouse off.
A couple of points to note:
1. You cannot remove the battery if the USB stick is in position on the underside of the mouse. The reason is that it covers a button that you must press in order to release the battery compartment.
2. Insert the battery so the negative side goes in first. As another review has noted, it appears from a plus sign in the battery compartment that you are supposed to put the plus side in first, but as I discovered when I did that, the mouse does not work.
Bottom line: Very nice mouse for travel or everyday use.

When my last cordless mouse bit the dust after only 3 months, and several battery changes, I bought this one with much anticipation. I was not disappointed. The compact size is easy to handle, and it doesn't run out of room on my ergonomic mouse pad, which was a problem with larger mice. It responds well, and while it doesn't have a bunch of added features, I don't need them. I have to say that the fact that it hasn't run out of batteries is a huge bonus, since I am a high volume user, so to speak. There is a feature you can download that tells you how your batteries are doing, and whether it is time to change them. I didn't have a problem with battery installation, but perhaps it was because I was forewarned by other reviewers. I thought it seemed pretty straightforward. The price was great too. if something tragic happened, like my kid dropping it in water or something, I would immediately buy another.Customer Review: Great little product!

I bought one for my first laptop and loved it. When we got my youngest son a laptop I bought this mouse with it. When my wife took over "our" laptop I got one for myself and bought this mouse at the same time. I wouldn't even get the laptop without it. Then my oldest son saw the mouse and wanted one too, so I ended up getting him one too. So that makes four of these purchased so far and they are all still working great, battery life is great because when you put the USB fob back in it's place under the mouse it automatically turns it off. A concept my youngest has not grasped all that well yet, even though the battery is holding up well. The feel of the clicks and the roll of the wheel are all very good. I've sat and used this mouse for hours with no fatigue at all and considering it's small size and my big hand that is something said for the nice design.Customer Review: great little mouse

I love this little notebook mouse. The scroll can be set fast, it's very responsive, lightweight, and was literally plug and play with my Mac. No drivers to download or other hardware incompatibilities. Since it plugs into a USB port, it has a strong signal. Don't know if this is bluetooth or not, but works far better than any bluetooth notebook mouse I've gotten in the past (like Kingston) and I have not had any lag or dropout. Real nice. I also love that it uses 1 AA battery that can last up to 6 months, so it's easy to replace on the fly and no extra cords or cradles are needed to charge it.
