Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks (Dark Silver)

Customer Review: I Am Very Happy with this Nifty Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a Mac mini under my TV. I use it for saving movies (which I've paid for), storing photos (I have thousands) and for iTunes. I also use it as a DVD player. That Mac mini is hooked up to a pair of JBL Studio Monitors, so I get great sound.

Needless to say I'm all the time using my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Every time I download the NBC and CBS news. Every time I listen to music, view photos, download photos from one of my cameras and, well you get the picture, I utilize the heck out of that mini. And sadly the Bluetooth mouse goes through batteries like they're going out of style, plus I have to get up to go to the coffee table to pause a video, because the Bluetooth signal gets pretty darn week from the other side of the room.

Enter the Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse. The signal shoots clear across the room, no problem. I have a little lap board (originally designed as a cutting board) that I use with this mouse and it works great. The scroll wheel works great, too. I know this because now it's possible for me to access my e-mail from my recliner and sometimes I do. All in all, I have to say I couldn't be happier with this nifty mouse.

Customer Review: Great Multi-Functional Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

My Dell Laptop was giving me cramps with trying to move the cursor around with one finger, especially when trying to scroll up or down. Knowing Logitech makes great electronic items; I didn't flinch when buying this mouse. The USB mini-receiver fits under the mouse when not in use. Otherwise, just plug it into your computer/laptop's port and you're ready. The mouse itself is very comfortable with a soft but firm, comfortable grip. The wheel is ridged, so you feel like you have more control. This mouse is much more sensitive than my regular Logitech corded mouse, but it's not that big a problem. I do like being able to easily scroll from side to side and zooming in and out on documents. Especially convenient is that the V220 turns itself off when not used for several minutes, taking away the worry of battery burnout. Plus it works on almost any surface (think about being on a plane with your laptop on that tiny tray). For the price, it's a great tool, especially if you have large hands or are wide shouldered.

Do note that this mouse is only certified for Windows Vista compatibility; something I found out after the fact, but worked out for me.

Customer Review: Great Value for Cordless Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been using this mouse for a little over a month and I am very satisfied with this purchase. Very comfortable and intuitive feel. Small enough to fit easily in laptop bags (with included storage for receiver), but not too small as to be awkward to use. Buttons and scroll wheel work well and have good response.

The thing I like most about this mouse is that I can use it on any surface. When with my laptop I use it on the surface of the couch, a book, folder, paper, even semi-reflective or rough surfaces. Provides precise control.

The downloadable software is probably not worth the disk space. I was looking forward to the left-right scrolling capability of this mouse (enabled with the s/w), but found that I rarely use it. Windows will do fine with the mouse if you decide against downloading the app.

I would also advise that if this will be used for a laptop/netbook, you should look at the "nano" version so that you can leave the receiver plugged in to the usb port when traveling -- probably not ideal to keep unplugging the receiver as often as I do so the laptop fits in the bag.

A great value overall-

Customer Review: Great travel mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I finally got one of these wireless USB travel mice. I was lugging around one of those large corded USB mice and that was getting really old with the travelling I was doing. This mouse has been almost perfect in every regard. The only tiny issue I have had might not even be the mouse's fault. Occasionally under Windows 7 the cursor will stutter around like it is having trouble syncing. It often happens after my laptop falls asleep and is then re-awakened. All I do then is unseat and reseat the USB dongle in a different USB slot and once Windows dings that it detects it (just like a second later) all things seem fine again. Not sure what that is but it only happens every few days anyway and is easy to fix. Other than that small quirk the mouse has been awesome. I was worried that the mouse might be too small since I don't have small hands but it has actually been just fine to use. I also like how it has a switch to manually turn off or turns off when you put the USB dongle in the storage slot on the bottom of the mouse. This lets me know it isn't wasting the battery. Fits easily in laptop bag pocket.

Customer Review: Smooth and simple
Summary: 5 Stars

I never knew how much easier a cordless mouse would be until I tried this one with my laptop. Now I am hooked and thinking about getting one for the office too.

Since this is designed to be portable, it's a little smaller than some others, which is fine for me but might not be ideal for larger hands. However, the movement is effortless. I recently had a chance to try another, larger wireless mouse by another manufacturer and found that it didn't move as easily - it was slower, or jerkier, or something. It made me really appreciate the smooth movement of this mouse.

It was also completely effortless to install in my Windows XP laptop, and I had no trouble putting in the battery.

The battery life is reasonable, the LED light on the device tells you when it needs to be replaced, and replacing the battery is a painless process - no need to refer to instructions. It also takes one AAA battery rather than the more unusual and expensive batteries sometimes required for small electronics.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase.
