Customer Review: Good Things Come in little packages
Summary: 5 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Good Presentation and packaging, easy instructions with appropriate functionality make this another great little Logitech product.Whilst the V220 is in a basic plastic package,it really is an easy pack to open( different to some Plastic packs that require either a sharp pair of scissors or a carbonite laser),and the "Bend here to open" really does mean that, and you can pop the plastic out around both sides.Install the one(only one) battery in the V220 first,( the button cover for the mouse battery works on a "pop the top" button, and you just place the battery in there; one tip,if you ever need to grab a battery from somewhere, and you don't know if it has power, watch the little led which indicates low power, because you can use it to test any battery you get to see if it has power because it will flash green) Install the SETPOINT software before attaching anything, but have everything ready, and follow the instructions, and you will be ready to go in almost no time.It does everything you need in a mouse, except occupy a lot of space, which is a plus at some conferences. And if you want a slide show wireless remote, or something with a single command, you can have the central scroll do double duty. And in some of the use I have had with this unit I can safely say that line of sight tranmission is not a problem. This is an excellent all purpose basic mouse.

Customer Review: Instructions not needed
Summary: 5 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The most difficult thing about getting the mouse to work was getting through the packaging material. The mouse needs no software to get started. I did not read the instructions on setting up the mouse. If I can do this, then anyone can. I plugged the USB receiver into my T60p Thinkpad, snapped the AA battery into the mouse, switched the mouse on and it was ready to go. It rolls smoothly on my mouse pad or wood desk surface. The mouse fits nicely into my hand. The wheel makes scrolling simple.

Although the mouse does not need software, you can download a 60 MB file from the Logitech web site. I looked into this after I got the mouse working. You do need to know whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit. Following the Logitech instructions for determining this did not yield the answer, but a web search found an easy way to make the determination. I was able to download and install the proper Logitech program. The software adds refinements to mouse operation that I probably will not need since the mouse works well as-is.

The packaging outweighs the mouse. It reminded me of the Russian nesting dolls. There was the Amazon box, about 1.5 x 2.5 ft. Inside that was the Logitech box, about 1 x 1.5 ft. Inside that was a plastic pack, 6 x 8 in. Inside that was the mouse, 2 in x 3 in. Fewer layers of packaging would be better.

Customer Review: I Love It!
Summary: 5 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I'm running Windows XP on a Dell laptop with one of those touch pads, which I hate. This mouse made working on my laptop a breeze. The set-up is simplicity itself: Put the battery in the mouse, put the receiver in a USB slot, and you're ready to go. No software to download. No CD program needed to run. This is truly "plug and play."

I've been using the mouse for a few hours, and it has worked flawlessly. It reads the receiver from more than ten feet away, and it doesn't matter if you're a lefty or a righty, or where the USB port is on your computer.

I also plugged it into my desktop computer, and it works better than my wireless Microsoft mouse. It's more responsive, and has a better center click wheel.

Plus, for travel convenience, the receiver fits into a slot on the bottom of the mouse. It's a good fit, so you won't have to worry about the receiver getting seperated and lost. Plus, when you insert or remove the receiver, it automatically turns the mouse off or on, preserving battery life and making sure the mouse is active only when you are.

The mouse feels comfortable to hold and use, and slides nicely over various sufraces, including my desktop, mouse pad, the floor, and it even works on the palm of my hand.

Great product.

Customer Review: Another wire removed with a good Logitech product
Summary: 5 Stars

I selected this mouse as a solution to the placement of the USB ports on a recently acquired ASUS laptop.

The port where right-handed users are most likely to plug in a mouse is at the front of the keyboard tray on this computer. Result: you are likely to find the mouse wire in the same area where you might want to use the mouse.

With no Bluetooth capability, a wireless mouse became the solution (plug the wireless transmit/receive unit into a USB port on the left side of the computer...and the mouse wire is no longer an issue).

This mouse was recognized immediately by Windows 7. It accepted basic adjustments through the Windows control panel. The full "Setpoint" mouse utility software was easy to find on Logitech's site, and I recommend downloading it to gain more functionality of the VT 220 (and especially for its center control wheel).

Even for users with large hands, this mouse should be easy to operate, primarily due to the rubber grips on the sides.

The bottom of the mouse is slotted to accommodate the USB transmit/receive unit for storage and travel. The storage slot is cleverly grooved to automatically turn the mouse's underside power switch on or off as you remove or replace the transceiver.

I've been using Logitech wireless keyboards and mice without a problem for over ten years; this model maintains that pattern of ease of use.

Customer Review: A mouse for a real 5 Stars

This device is in a class by itself.

It has a great design, wheel that

can roll backwwards & forwards, even

slide across test and is very well

made. The battery is cleverly hidden

under THE HOOD which opens from a

little latch underneath. It has an

auto shut off featuer which is also

turned off by inserting the USB

receiver key underneath for storage.

It uses an invisible laser which is

quite powerful and has an excellent

communicative ability no matter

where the mouse is as long as you

are in the same room. No one will

ever think of this but if you are

giving a presentation you can use

this mouse to operate a hidden

laptop out of sight yet sit right

in the same room with the viewers

that are watching your presentation.

Most people would need another

monitor and a second person to do

this operation. That is why I say

when asked I would take a mouse

instead of a man, lol.

This mouse is an EXCELLENT item

for anyone who wants to still be

connected without a wire.

It even came with a high quality

Duracell battery that was alkaline

quality. That means business for me.

A great choice for a mouse.
