Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc PlayerCustomer Review: A great buy! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first Blu-ray player. I did tons of research on all different brands and ended up going with the LG BD 370. The Netflix and Movie options are great. Its definitely an excellent purchase for the price. I would definitely recommend this product.
Cons: The remote could definitely use some work. No wireless. I had to buy adaptors that you connect your ethernet wire into right from your modem or wireless hub then you plug it into any wall outlet (wont work plugged into a power strip) and it turns your electrical signal into a internet bridge. Then you plug another ethernet wire into you LG BD and the other end into the second adapter. Then plug the adapter into the wall and now your up and running internet to your blu-ray.
Customer Review: Love It Except for Ethernet Port Summary: 5 Stars
I got this wonderful gift for Valentine's Day, and I love it. Load time is quick, the remote is uncluttered and on-screen menu is the best I've seen (even better than Tivo). Netflix video is never choppy over broadband and looks about as good as DVD. You Tube access is a nice distraction, but most You Tube videos are noticeably low quality.
My only wish is that it had a built-in WiFi hardware or USB port for WiFi instead of the Ethernet port. I can't believe that many people have Ethernet wired around their house. A USB WiFi client can be as low as $25, but an Ethernet WiFi adapter doesn't get cheaper than $99. If on-line streaming is a must, then keep in mind the cost of WiFi adapter.
Customer Review: Love my LG BD370! Summary: 5 Stars
I got a great deal on this model at $50 less than the retail stores. I've been happy with this player for over a month and no problems to report. If there was one thing LG could do to make it better, it would be to allow users to adjust the amount of idle time before the unit automatically shuts off. Not a complaint, but having the option would be nice. Netflix and Youtube work as advertised. I tried using a wireless network connection, but the signal wasn't strong enough to stream Netflix. I ended up having my internet provider install a new wireless DSL modem (no charge) next to the TV for a direct connection to the dvd player and then use the wi-fi for our computers. The ideal solution!
Customer Review: The future is streaming Summary: 5 Stars
Lg BD370 is working out well after about 3 months of use. I almost never use it to watch blue-ray but instead use it for streaming Netflix .I am not ready to upgrade my TV ,but would like to be prepared when I do. One question I had when buying this product(and found no info on) was-Can I play a Blue-ray disk and watch it on an OLDER ANALOG TV,-YES you can ,You are able to select output resolution. The picture quality is quite good on the older TV using standard composite connection. My internet connection is 1.5 download, which is about 3/4 of the way on the bar gauge.Never stops to buffer.I have no information for viewing at HD .The other features are great,The future is streaming.
Customer Review: Great, easy to use player outstanding pic quality Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this unit with a LG37LH50 1080 HD tv. Very easy set up using an HD cord, also from Amazon. Quality of the movies, even those not blu-ray, is so clear that I can't even imagine how it could be better. Controller is easy to understand and use - very user friendly, unlike my last unit that I never did fully understand.
I have not hooked it up to receive online, Netflix, Cinemax or Youtube. It requires a splitter, running a second cable, a modem or going wireless. It is not a feature that is important to me since I receive Netflix by mail, and Charter cable HD gives me access to all the movie channels and many free channels as well.
