Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player

Customer Review: Very Nice!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is our first Blu-ray player and we're very satisfied with the purchase. Can't make a comparison with load times, but it seems to be on par with our old progressive DVD player which is very good. Network updates are a cinch and was able to find an update out of the box. The illuminating bezel is neat as it changes color depending on what's in the tray or if you're on the network (blue = Blu-ray, red = DVD or network activity). Upconverts regular DVD's nicely to 1080p. The only gripe I have is with the Netflix software. Unfortunately, you don't have the ability to browse the Netflix library like the XBOX 360. You can only watch what's in your queue. Hopefully, there will be a future update that allows browsing. Otherwise, this is a very solid unit and I would recommend to anyone who is in the market for a Blu-ray player.

Customer Review: Great player!!!

I have a two years old Sharp BD HP20 player. It is slooow, has many other problems and do not play many disc even with the latest firmware came out about six months ago. Unfortunately, Sharp decides not to support it anymore so no more firmware update or fix for it.
Saw this LG BD player and bought it right away. Excellent purchase, it is less than half of what I paid for the Sharp player (in the closet gathering dust now). This player is loading very FAST (few seconds, not minute) and the image is exceptional. Youtube and Netflix streaming (regular movie, not HD) work great with my 1.5 Mbs DSL. I was surprise at the quality of the streaming movie. Highly recommend this player. It came with component cables and did not include HDMI cable, no big deal for me since I already have one.

Customer Review: Cheap, and great foray into Blu Ray.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been waiting for 2 years to pick up a player. I just got my first hdtv (720p) last christmas. I found this at Best Buy the day after christmas for 149.99$. It was so easy to setup, the Blu ray looks really good for a non 1080p model. Am really impressed with the Netflix. I have seen little issues while watching LOST, but nothing worse then how cable has issues occasionally with standard programs, and you can go back if you miss something. For the price and the features set, plenty of bang for the buck. Plus, at some point, I will get a new better one with more bells and whistles, and it will be put in the bedroom, along with the tv I got. Great starter machine, Have not tried the upconverting of regular dvds, as I have an OPPO dvd player that is great for upconverting, and music.

Customer Review: Great player, Great Price, Great LG Customer Service
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this player for my second room at a great price ($165) immediately after LG repaired a common software problem with my BD300 preventing it from playing regular DVDs (which look so good on the player I rarely play Blu-Ray discs). Even though I was past the 90-day warranty period, the repair, pickup and return delivery were all at no cost and it was turned around surprisingly quickly. All the customer service people I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Between regular DVDs, Netflix streaming and Blu-Ray discs, I haven't even used Cinema Now yet. Wish the USB connection would play my videos but it plays music well. Happy with both players and LG customer service, especially since I almost threw out the BD300 when it completely stopped loading DVDs.

Customer Review: Easy setup

I had a Samsung BD-P3600 for 2 weeks. I never could get an adequate wireless connection. Hooked up via cable and immediately was asked to upgrade firmware. After that it would never recognize my internet connection to stream video. I spent hours fooling with it and online or with Samsung support. SAVE YOURSELF THE GRIEF! Just get the LG 370. Out of the box, hooked up and streaming Netflix in 10 minutes! I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of the picture from that source. Excellent picture with either regular or Bluray disc. Sound quality is also very good. Only aspect where it trails the Samsung is in the look and feel of the remote. Also, only uses a single battery, I wonder about its longevity. Otherwise far superior unit and ease of use.
