Customer Review: Fits the Imation Apollo 2.5" drives!

Unlike everyone else who bought this case for their portable Western Digital drives, I got it for the new Imation Apollo drives (mine was the 250gb). I'm happy to say it fits the drive, rendering it great protection and storage. The case feels like those Nintendo DS Lite hard cases but it's a bit too small to put one in there. But that's a good thing; it can still fit in your pocket. The Imation Apollo drive, however, does not fit PERFECTLY inside. You have to kind of wedge it inside.. but once it's in, it pretty much stays in. It zippers up, so it keeps the drive in place regardless. It's no problem at all! Also, there's a mesh pocket to put in the USB cable, with room left over for other small things like a few SD cards. The pocket doesn't compromise the size of the case at all.
If you bought one of the new Imation portable 2.5" drives, consider getting this. It's a great buy!

I have had this case for almost two years. I use it to hold my WD 2.5 external HDD. Is well built giving a perfect protection to the drive. Besides is thinner than other more expensive ones taking up less space in my backpack. Finally, I have two minor complaints, the first is I would prefer the case with a mesh pocket to the cable and elastic bands to protect the HDD instead than just one mesh pocket (wich I use to put the drive). The second one is the white border outside doesn't look pretty nice. All in all for the price is an excellent deal.Customer Review: Best value HDD case

For the price you can't go wrong. My Vantech HDD housing fits snugly (very snugly, I have to press it into place) in one side, and the Y-cable goes in the mesh cover in the other side.
I took the carabiner off to use on my keyring, I don't need that on my HDD case. The strap is very useful for zipping it closed.
The material of this case is quite thick which makes it sturdy.
So far (a month now) this has proved a nice and strong case for my hard drive, I'm so pleased with it I am ordering another.

I bought one of these for transporting a WD Passport drive. The drive fits snugly in the case, and the cable stores nicely. I may be able to get a flash card or a pair of earbuds in the storage pocket as well--haven't tried yet.
I didn't downgrade this product over my disappointment--it is a good product, though not entirely what I would like in a hard drive case. For carrying in a purse, I would prefer a soft sleeve. I'm not really sure that such a thing exists. This will do all right in the meantime.

I was buying these for external hard drives that were to be Christmas presents. When ordering the hard drives I ordered a larger size unit than what I had wanted. So when I ordered these to put the hard drives in they were to small. I called the number on the invoice and they gave me a number to put on my package for return. It was seemless and I got credit very quickly for the return. There has always been concern in the back of my mind about having to return an order. Now I will not worry anymore.
