Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Koss SPARKPLUG - Stereo In Ear Ear Plugs

Customer Review: I am impressed
Summary: 5 Stars

After 3 years my ipod headphones finally quit on me. I thought I would buy a replacement pair but I didn't want to spend $30. ( I did however
spend $100 on shure earphones previously to owning my ipod, and I wasn't too impressed with what I paid for.)
I looked at reviews and such and decided for the price, I would try Koss sparkplugs. Let me just say, that from the moment I plugged them into my ipod , I was impressed.
These are even better than the standard ipod earphones. And the beauty of using these are designed for ipods.
The sound quality is excellent. I don't believe that the bass is as boomy as other reviewers have noted.
My only con to these is the cord. I wish it was a little shorter and more durable as the ipod standard cord. But with a lifetime guarantee, I won't have to worry......
In this case, I definitely believe you get more than what you paid for.

Customer Review: Koss Sparkplug
Summary: 5 Stars

These earphones were great for the money. Not only did they sound good, but they also lasted for THREE years. That is very durable, considering all the wear and tear I've put it through every day (pockets, backpacks, sports, etc.) The sound quality is not perfect, but it is definitely better than stock earphones. Keep in mind that these earphones have heavy bass and DO block out outside noise. If desired, the bass can be reduced with tape mod or Koss hybrids (Google them up.) The Sparkplugs are good for plane trips, and they preserve battery life of your music player because the volume does not have to be as high. However, as with almost all other earphones, the Sparkplugs can get uncomfortable after an extended period of use.
Overall, the Sparkplugs have great sound, last for a long time THROUGH WEAR AND TEAR, and at ten bucks, are probably the best earphones in this price range. Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Great Pair of Cheap Headphones
Summary: 5 Stars

The review by FightOrFlight is pretty accurate. These are very good headphones for the money. Many complain about a booming bass tending to muddle the sound, but I tried FightOrFlight's technique of covering up the port-holes in the back of the headphones with scotch tape and then poking out half of the holes so as not to completely deaden the sound. The result was very good, clarity is excellent, imaging is good, the bass is still very present but not overpowering.
These are a big improvement over the stock iPod headphones. Make sure you have the fit properly or you may run into some problems. The fit is the only mild warning - my girlfriend, who has smaller ears than I do, complained that they felt very uncomfortable to the point of being painful in her ear. I haven't experienced this myself, but if you think you may have particularly small ears, the Spark Plug may not be for you.

Customer Review: It's Like You Traded in Your A.M. Radio for Full Stereo
Summary: 5 Stars

Not only is there monster bass response that was totally absent from the iPod ear buds, I swear it boosts the volume by about 25% overall--I actually had to turn DOWN some songs for the first time ever.

I absolutely love them. I will never go back. Some people have issues with the foam and the in-ear part, but they feel fine to me and they stay in just fine (that's one of the big reasons I had problems with the originals, the right one kept falling out).

If they're too bass heavy for you... then TURN DOWN THE BASS in the EQ section of your iPod. Sheesh!

LOVE THEM. For $15 they are ridiculously good. And they cancel out all external sound--you can't hear anything but the music.

BTW the first half-day you have these they will be really bass heavy and almost muffled. Once you break them in, the high end comes along.

Customer Review: lightweight, good sound, & keep a lot of ambient noise out
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used these for quite a few years now, but the one thing that always bothered me was that one plug always went dead after a few months, and I'd have to get a new set. Granted, I used them when working out among other things, so I gave them a beating, but it was still annoying. I then bought a much more expensive brand, based on reviews I read here at Amazon. And I have to say, those others REALLY annoyed me. They're too heavy and didn't fit into my ears as well. And because the wire's heavier, they're more cumbersome. Also the sound was supposed to be so superior, but I found very little in the lower frequencies. So I'm back to these. And I have to say, the ones I've gotten recently don't seem to break as quickly. Maybe I'm being more careful, or maybe they're making them better, but for the 12 bucks or so that I spend, they're definitely worth it.
