for all of the audiophiles... your wrong! the sound is not muddy or any of that nonsense! these headphones just actually have a bass! it isn't muddy at all! it just sounds different because your used to hearing more treble bc its easier for headphones to make treble than bass!... wow learn something! and have u ever head of an equalizer? how come all good stereo systems have equalizers? because your meant to use the equalizer to adjust the music because good speakers/headphones put out all elements of the music not just the treble! awesome headphones! 2nd pair ive boughten (one for some1 else and 1 for myself) plugs r still good and the 2nd pair... well its good to know i have them lol and as long as u keep ur ear clean.. well they wont get filthy!

PS ya disregard some of the other comments because people are obviously confused.... not saying im a genius or anything but i atleast can tell a good pair of headphones when i use them... probably best portable headphones around...

I have been one of those people who refused to use the little earbuds and continued to use the traditional headphones. I finally decided to down size from my headsets to these little guys. I was skeptical at first, but wow, I am quite impressed.
I own Koss Stereophones; so I decided to stick with them and I definitely made the right decision. The Sparkplugs have a little more stylized design compared to most earbuds and the soft, expandable cushions provide comfort and great isolation.
The only real inconvenience I can think of is with bass intensive songs. The bass tends to over power the mid and treble a little. Since, these earphones are place directly into the ear, ear wax may be a problem, but just keep them clean. ;) Otherwise, these little things can churn out some serious sound. It is almost like your whole mind is filled with the sound.
Definite bang for the buck.
CAUTION: Increased isolation requires less volume. Be respectful to your hearing.

Very impressed for the price. Good bass and treble and very clear mid-range. Because these earbuds put the sound closer to your eardrums, while closing off outside noise with expanding foam plugs(covers), I found it takes only a little over half the volume(power) level setting on my Cellphone player to get the same ear volume as my larger sony non-plug type earbuds and even larger sony headset I had been using.
This means I get sound as good or better as my larger headset, using less battery power, and in a much smaller package. I call that a triple play. Good job Koss.
PS: For those not used to earplugs, they may be less comfortable than sit-on-the ear headset type phones, no more uncomfortable than non-plug earphones. A tip when inserting them is to hold the plugs so their leads point straight out in front of you. Then begin to insert them while rotating them as you insert them further so leads finally end up pointing down when fully inserted.

I like to smart buy my electronics, I don't drop money unless I get the best value. These Spark plugs are the best ear buds ever for the price. Try these out before you go drop hundreds on some expensive ear buds, I think I just saved u lot of money.
They are comfortable, they stay on secure and they don't use expensive technology to cancel outside noise, they just sit deep in your ear canal and expand to fit so outside noise can't get in. (be careful about traffic if you are running outside, u can't hear it unless somebody honks at u). My brother ususally try not to like anything I buy, he ordered two pairs of these after hearing mine.
Complaints : Bass is too high, (Put a clear tape closing the holes behind the buds and Bass is perfect).
They get dirty after stayin in ear canal for a long time, (keep your ears clean, wipe em after u use, and don't lend to or borrow from other people "Get your own spark plugs" :).

I originally got these headphones as a trial, as I haven't used earbuds in 5-10 years and they were half the price of Sony and much less than the Shure E3c earbuds. I haven't felt the need to purchase anything since buying them over a year ago.
Pros:
- They are very comfortable in my ears and can wear them for hours before they become mildly uncomfortable.
- Comforatable and "stylish" enough to use as sound-blocking earplugs in a loud office, as people think I'm listening to music.
- I have also washed the foam inserts without degredation.
Cons:
- They may do too good a job of eliminating background noise, as they are quite loud unless my music player or computer is set to the absolute lowest volume setting. This could be solved with an in-line volume control.
- It would be nice if the cord was a foot longer (it is 4 ft) as I do most of my listening with a computer at my workspace.
