Needing a new pair of headphones I bought Koss portable headset as I used to own a huge pair of Koss stereophones and loved the sound quality. The cheap Sony headphones, that came with my portable player, were uncomfortable, fair sound quality, and the cord wiring came loose in under a month. As an audiophile my ears were aching. The Koss KTX Pro1 were perfect for me. And perfect for my 75-year-old Mom! She never wanted to wear headphones and always complained that they hurt her ears and head. But after she wore my Koss headphones, adjusted them to her head, and listened to her favorite music, she hasn't given them back! And she can adjust the soundlevel on the cord to her own hearing level.
So, I am headed back to the store to buy another set of Koss KTXPro1 for myself!

I bought this set of headphones for use at home for the computer. The sound quality out of this set is truly amazing, better than any other set of headphones I have ever had the misfortune to listen through. This set gives more a stereo sound rather than the one-dimensional sounds the others give. I am sure that there are better and more expensive brands out there and I am not knocking those, but if you want good sound for a good price, this is it. The in-line volume control allows you to control the volume instead of having to adjust from the computer which is an added bonus, especially if what you're listening to gets loud all of a sudden. It even has the larger plug for not just computer use, but also for larger stereo equipment. Overall, I am extremely pleased.Customer Review: Great Headphones, Great Price

I originally bought these headphones at RadioShack. They were rebranded as Koss PRO35A and cost $40. I was happy with them despite the price. After reading about these online, I realized I was a victim of an obscene mark-up. I returned them and bought a pair from here. These are great headphones.
Pros: clear rich sound, good bass, good treble, decent mids, good style, good price, comfortable, l-shaped plug, short cord (may be a con for some)
Cons: Nothing considerable. They don't seem like the sturdiest headphones. However, this means they're portable and light-weight. I can't expect much more for the price.
If you want some practical headphones for your mp3 player and you hate ear-buds like me, then buy these!
Customer Review: These headphones Rock 5 Stars
I bought these headphones for my iRiver SlimX 350. I was just amazed at the improvement in bass and power in the sound compared to the earphones that came with the player. I also bought "Sony MDR-Q55SL" becasue of its high rating on Amazon.com. But Koss KTXPRO1 is miles ahead of it. I am going to keep the Koss and Sony's gotta go .....Follow up:
I also own Sennheiser HD-280 now which are compared to Bose's triports and quiet comfort headphones (150-300$ headphones). Sen's headphones are just great. KTX Pro 1 is about 5 times cheaper than Sennheiser but can produce "almost" comparable sound quality. I think, no other headphones in this price range will be able to produce a sound quality comparable to Sennheiser HD-280.

I put personal stereo gear to the test, constantly at work (mowing hundreds of acres of lawns). I've got an "audiophile" ear so, just because I'm mowin' doesn't mean I'm careless about quality or fidelity!!
SOUND QUALITY:
Flat frequency response!
-Good low end, flat-not "boomey".
-Midrange clarity- not overly detailed,
-Defined highs-clear not "edgy".
CONSTRUCTION:
Durable, comfortable headband,
Easy to clean,
Replacement ear pads easily available.
Superior buy for a mere $18.00. Rivals headsets costing much more!
-Wish all other audio gear was this good!
