Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone HeadphonesCustomer Review: BUY THESE! Trust me!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I did a ton of reading to find a cheap set of phones to carry with me if I wanted work on beats when I am away. My idea was to spend $100 on a set of phones and I stumbled on these. I have been around the music biz for a minute now, about 7 years. I have worked with pro's in their studio's and recorded myself and recorded for them. I have heard quite a few sets of phones and these are right up there with anything I have heard. They are as clean as sanheiser's $100 set, and have the bass as good as any sony d.j. pair I have used. I figured for $20 the price can't be beat and it's not a big risk. So I got these today and they are amazing. I have to say that I knew I was gonna be impressed but compared to other pro phones, these are just sick. I am going to use these for secondary monitoring and already bought a second pair for the booth. BUY THESE HEADPHONES! You are not wasting your money.
By the way for the people who said they are easily breakable I would have to tell them to learn how to put them on correctly. You have to put on the bottom of the ear piece that goes behind your ear first and then twist them on. The only reason you need to be careful is because it is metal and if you bend it too much it WILL break. The more you stretch metal the more brittle it gets.
Customer Review: Fantastic sound in a small package at a great price Summary: 5 Stars
I own a set of Koss PortaPro Headphones, which are arguably the best-sounding portable headphones on the market. Despite their portability, they have become my favorite "at home" headphones as well.
Recently I decided that I wanted something smaller and even more portable than the PortaPros, for when I'm taking walks, on the train, etc. I hate "ear bud" style headphones, and wanted something without a head band. After doing some research, I found the Koss KSC75 portable 'phones. I wasn't sure how good they would be, considering how low the price was, but figured I'd give them a shot anyway.
What a pleasant surprise!
These small, lightweight headphones sound nearly as good as my PortaPros, and are even more comfortable. Best of all, I can wear these while wearing a hat or a baseball cap, which wasn't really possible with the PortaPros. They're also a bit more inconspicuous than the PortaPros, which are kind of difficult to conceal.
I'm so happy that I found these, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a small, light, comfortable headphone at a great price!
Customer Review: Thank goodness I found these! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been going nuts trying to find a decent set of headphones for my new iPod. All I wanted was decent sound for a decent price, but after trying various models of ear-buds and standard phones and returning them all I figured I was going to have to shell out some big bucks after all. But, then I decided to pull the trigger on some cans made by a great old company from my youth that used to be THE only choice for headphones- KOSS of course! And man- they still have it. These aren't the greatest phones I've ever heard, but for $20 (and it seems you can now get them for half that!) they easily compare to some well-known sets costing 3 times as much or more. Finally, no awful hi-mid peaks that threaten to end my career as an audio engineer *cough cough Sony cough*. They are fairly comfortable- I think I would rather have the traditional over-the-head band but you get used to these pretty quick. These sound nice, full- the bass doesn't thump like a lot of people like but to my ears it's smooth. And most important, you can listen for hours without ear fatigue. Without a doubt, these are the best budget phones I've ever owned! My bottom line- anyone who doesn't grab these for $10 bucks a pop is insane. Period *g*
Customer Review: Excellent Koss Sound Summary: 5 Stars
These sound incredible like every Koss product I own. I don't know how they do it at the price point they sell them for. I own a set of Koss Portapro's and a set of Senheiser PX - 100's probably the best 2 phones out there regardless of price. These do not dissapoint, they are right there with those 2. They are extremley comfortable (at least to me) in fact the most comfortable I've had in a clip on style. The only dissapointing thing to me was that I was under the impression they had an in line volume control (THEY DO NOT!) so if that means a lot to you take that into consideration before you purchase. It was a minor thing to me and they sound so good I don't care. Plus Koss sells a volume control you can add to any phones if you need one that badly. I also own a set of Koss spark plugs which are the best bud style I've owned. and a set of the Koss $4.99 all purpose phones from Wal-Mart. Even they sound better than phones costing way more. plus thy even came with extra ear cushions and they do have an in line volume control. All Koss products have an unconditional lifetime warranty. $6 will replace any set you own no matter the cost or reason. it's a no brainer, you can't go wrong with Koss. I'm a lifelong fan now.
Customer Review: The Best Summary: 5 Stars
I hear a lot of complaints about the comfort of these cans, and I agreed, for about a month. When I first got them, they hurt a lot, and took a while to get used to, but I learned how to get them on, and how to wear them, and they wound up being perfect for me.
In terms of sound, they rival my SR-60's. I mean that honestly, the bass response is fantastic, they sound clean and can stand up to some pretty hothot licks. If I compare the comfort, portability and isolation of the two cans, these win easy, the Grado's do sound better, perhaps even marginally, but since I picked these up about a year ago, I only use my SR-60's for at home listening.
I managed to break mine through extreme and repetative abuse, but that was after about 9 months of 6-8 hours per day. The paint was almost completely worn off and they still worked great. The fact that they broke was entirely my fault. They are very very sturdy. The ear pieces do clip on and off, which I think some people assumed to mean that they broke, but that is just natural with them.
If you are in the market for awesome cans, in any price range, jive a tiny bit of cash into them, and never regret it.
