Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of KINGSTON DT100 4GB FLASH DRIVE 4GB DATA TRAVELER UCustomer Review: Working Fine Summary: 5 Stars
I recently bought two of the Kingston flash drives, one 2 GB and one 4 GB. We are using them on graphics files and they have both worked as advertised. The only minor difficulty has been inserting them into the USB ports. They have to be precisely lined up to do properly insert the drive; that is just a characteristic of the USB port I suppose but requires some careful attention. I've also noticed that holding the thumb slider on the side of the drive that extends the plug is somewhat tricky. It keeps wanting to slide back into the drive housing.
Once installed it does work well. The window showing the drive contents is automatically displayed on the screen. You may want to check my comments on the other drive about assigning drive letters if you are having any problems with the Kingston drive window automatically displaying.
Both the 2 GB and the 4 GB have prodigious capacity. Remembering vividly the limitations of the 1.44 MB floppy and the 700 MB capacity of the CD-R one can get spoiled quickly by this level of storage capacity.
Customer Review: as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
What can you say, works great, you may find people though sitting there with it and pushing the connector in and out (the same people who click pens I think), but it works great, is slim enough to double up with another flash drive on laptop paired USB outlets (not a slot hog).Would have been nice though if a lanyard was provided (I used an old one I had)since there is a slot for one. Good experience with Kingston Warranty also on an earlier less expensive drive (500MB) that went south on me. No questions asked and quickly replaced.
Customer Review: Does What it Should Summary: 5 Stars
I own a few thumb drives and this one preforms just as well as any other. It is very light weight but I don't feel that it would break easily.
The only complaint about this product that I have is that the it takes a lot of force to slide the connector out of the casing. I'm concerned that once the texture rubs off of the slider, I will not be able to push the connector out anymore. However, I would still buy this product again despite this.
Overall, great product at what I consider a great price.
Customer Review: Better than I expected Summary: 5 Stars
I can't believe how much this little thing holds. I've loaded it up with MP3's, pictures, word and PDF files, and have just reached 25% capacity. I love that the USB connector is retratable instead of having a cap I would lose. The only drawback is that I haven't found a way to get something around the spot where you should be able to hook it to something, if that makes sense. It roams freely in my bag or my pocket, which I'm not a big fan of, but for the price and performance, you can't beat this flash.
Customer Review: Best flash drive I've had so far Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this flash drive as a replacement for my 2-gig SanDisk Cruzer that decided to stop working (every file transfered to that drive for the past 6 months has been corrupted) and couldn't be happier. This 4-gig Kingston drive is MUCH faster than the SanDisk, and I love the sliding USB connector (no cap to loose). It didn't come with a lanyard, but there is a spot to add one if you like; mine just goes in my pocket. Overall, this drive is exactly what I was looking for and would recommend it to anyone.
