Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kingston 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-HS219/1Customer Review: Works for me with OpenBSD 4.4 Summary: 5 Stars
After trouble with a cheapo Neodio Technologies USB writer (spontaneous disconnects on both Ubuntu 8.10 and OpenBSD 4.4), I didn't have too much hope for any multi-card writer. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Kingston FCR-HS219/1 worked fine writing my Kingston Elite Pro 4GB 133X CF cards. (I have version 2.00/97.22 of the writer according to /var/log/messages). I was able to keep a 4G CF card mounted on an OpenBSD 4.4 box for several days without any disconnect problems. The writes are fast, and the device shows up as 4 SCSI devices, so I'm guessing if I had other cards in different slots they'd be visible at the same time.
Customer Review: Make sure to press the button on the top to release micro SD cards Summary: 5 Stars
This card reader is simply amazing. I am quite impressed with the product. I tried different kinds of cards, microSD, SD, Memory stick pro, etc. All of them worked great on Vista and Windows XP. Once you plug the reader, XP and Vista automatically downloads the driver for this device. Every thing was smooth after that. I like the small USB extension cable that came with the reader. The maximum size card that I tried was a 16 GB class 6 microSDHC flash card and there were no issues.
The last card reader that I had would only recognize upto 2 GB. I think this reader should work fine with 32 GB SDHC cards also.
Customer Review: received as expected Summary: 5 Stars
Win ME found a driver for this w/out any trouble. Works fine. My only complaint is that Win ME sets up a drive specification for each of the reader slots, so even if you are reading only one card, Windows doesn't indicate which of the slots are empty or which contain a card. This is really a minor issue. The short (3" including USB adapter) USB cable stores in the back of the reader. Someone else might want a longer cable, but not me. The inside of the reader slides out in its sleeve. You have to press a plastic button on top and then push from in back. This is not clearly explained, but once understood it works fine.

I've purchased this item quite some time ago and have loved it. It gives you several slots to choose from for different media at half the cost then what most retailers were asking. The only cons I have is the whole fliping it back into the cradle then forward when you want to use it. Not a big deal but not certain why they developed it like this. The other thing is the USB output cable that extends from the back is not more than one inch on this thing. Not certain if it came with one but you will need a USB Type A Male / Type A Female, Extension Cable, 2.0 Version to adapt from the unit to your computer.
Customer Review: Awesome little device Summary: 5 Stars
So far it has worked perfectly with an SD card and a CF card. I like the thought that went in to the product. The ports are recessed until you need them and it came with a three foot USB to USB extension so it should fit anywhere.
I also downloaded a utility that now provides little graphics to go along with each of the drives. But the drives (on Vista) come up no problem all 4 of them. Had no problem loading the drivers on to my computer and my PS3 recognizes it and lets me transfer data again no problems. Fast tranfer rate for both cards. Great useful little gadget, highly recommend.
