The card reader is good, durable, functional. I don't get why the usb cord attached to the card reader is literally an inch long.. weird... but it comes with an extension usb cord... I think that's stupid but if it didn't, some ppl would be pissed about it. Anyhow, u really gotta push that "rolly pushy" part on top of the reader, watch the video. Sometimes I think it's stuck, but it's not, needs a bit of pushing. I like how durable this reader is. I bought another by some generic brand that cost me $2.00, $5.00 including shipping. That crap died on me on 5 usages. This time, I decided to buy this Kingston one.. it was a good price and it's durable! But I've seen smaller card readers so I was hoping that it would be smaller and thinner but u can't have it all! I just got this Kingston Multi-card Reader today so it's probably too early to call it the best reader in the world but its great so far. It has the ability to slide in and out of its protective housing so you can store cards while they are still in the reader and toss it into a camera bag - the cards slide into the protective housing WITH the reader itself. The biggest thrill for me is the fact that it WORKS PERFECTLY with the iPad Camera Connection Kit (which is a MUST for photographers with an iPad). It gives me the ability to pup my CF card in and pull the photos through the camera connection kit's USB attachment (I've only tested it with a Lexar 16GB Platinum II CF Card - but I'm sure it works on most other cards). It's a great buy - I'll update this at a later date to report whether it's still functioning like I think it will/should.Customer Review: Inexpensive and works great so far

I purchased this to read files from CF and SDHC cards. I have been using the reader on my HP printer but the time to download digital camera files was frustrating. When I upgraded to a flash video camera it became maddening. I purchased it even after reading some negative reviews about compatability with large capacity memory cards. I plugged it into a USB port and inserted a Trancend 16GB SDHC card and it was able to transfer the files in minutes versus many hours from the printer. So far, no issues. Of course this is not a long term test but it worked as advertized right out of the package. I expect to buy another device to carry with my DSLR, video camera and laptop. The item was delivered in one day using Amamzon Prime.
I purchased another device to carry with my laptop. Works great with no issues on either unit.

My previous cardreader (6 years old) started giving connection errors so I shopped around looking for (a) price, (b) size, (c) convenience. Another tipping factor was that I've always had positive experience with Kingston products.
Have had it and used it extensively for several weeks and have no qualms about it. It has a short cable so it's easier to connect than those without cable; it is retractable which protects the connections and the cable and makes it easy to throw into my briefcase. One caveat: I've only use the SD connection but one would presume the other connections are operable. Also, upon writing this review, I see that there was suppose to be a 3' extension cable. Hmmmm...don't remember getting that. Have to check my desk--haven't needed it but still would be good to have.

You usually can't go wrong purchasing electronics through Amazon. But, shortly after placing my order,
while I was still out of the country, I received notice that it could not be delivered to my rural address without someone home to sign for it. I immediately emailed explaining my dilemma, and Amazon reshipped the article...no questions asked. Upon arriving home, several weeks later I discovered the pkg. was still waiting in my post office box. And the duplicate arrived shortly there after. I was amazed that Amazon would take such good care of customers, immediately returned the duplicate and have been singing the praises of a very satisfied customer ever since. A very good lesson about going the extra mile in business, especially with the current financial situation.
