I read some articles about how slow the Kingston DataTraveler 8GB was. It works fast enough for me on my MacBook. It was recognized instantly and I copied 600MB to it, through a USB even, and it only took 2 minutes. I am glad that it does not have a lanyard--I alway throw them away. I am using this drive just to backup my system's hard drive. I was pleased with how fast I could copy a 7.7 GB folder on to it. Now I trust that I'll be able to read it in a year or two if I ever have a system failure. I have several other Kingston drives of this series and have never had any trouble with them.Customer Review: Fast and Cheap!!

Works great, it seems pretty fast and it wasn't very expensive considering it's eight gigs. Only thing I don't like is the cap, I'm afraid i might loose it. It should have a little tether to it or something so it can't be separated from the drive. When it's plugged in the cap does fit snugly on the back though.Customer Review: Excellent product

I could go on and on about how this is a great product for the money, good transfer speed, small size, features, etc.; but bottom line is this is still working and my data is intact after being washed in a pair of pants and dried in the clothes dryer!! This is my secon Kingston Data Traveler and this is working flawlessly. Only problem you may face is that you will not be able to use this with old laptops with USB 1.1 version installed, as it may give you an error message that USB power consumption exceeded! Otherwise, this is absolutely worthy puchase.
