Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kingston 4 GB Class 4 SDHC Flash Memory Card SD4/4GBCustomer Review: Kingston or Sandisk? Class 4 or Class 6? Decisions, Decisions. Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased some Sandisk shares when I read the company was the primary provider of flash memory cards to the entire industry. A bad investment in an industry where profit margins have dropped quicker than prices, but at least it taught me to look to Sandisk first. At the moment, however, Amazon Prime has no comparable values in the Sandisk line, and experience has shown me that Kingston cards, though perhaps more hastily manufactured than Sandisk, will perform equally well. Of course, you can pick up a Transcend card, which appears almost overnight to have become the 3rd main player, replacing clearly inferior products like Lexar. But my Transcend flash drive was like a Cracker Jack toy compared to my Sandisks, all of which I still have and use (the Transcend proved useless after two months on my key chain).
So at the moment this Kingston 4GB SDHC represents the most attractive offering for use with a Canon Elf. Just to give the consumer something to chew on, Kingston offers the card in a "faster" Class 6 edition, which is a couple of bucks more or less, depending on whom you buy it from. If you can save a couple of bucks, may as well go for it. Otherwise, ask yourself whether filling your flash memory card with thousands of images every day has led to exasperation with the slowness with which they transfer from your camera to your computer. I'm with the vast majority of Amazon reviewers, who apparently do not feel that being a mere Class 4 card user has limited their creative horizons.
Customer Review: Don't be swayed by idiot customers.. Summary: 5 Stars
The Kingston 4gb SDHC memory card, like all other Kingston products, is an exceptional piece of equipment. I use it with my Canon SD1000 and I get nothing but blazing fast write times and no headaches. Make sure your device supports SDHC because if not, it will not work. This is a key reason why people are left "unsatisfied" by what they get, not because of the product, but because they did not do their homework.
Buyers, you should really take note that, most reviews on any site about not only Kingston, but other great brands, is heavily altered by idiot customers leaving comments to attack the site that sold them the items. So don't quickly judge an product based on how many stars it has, because honestly, you cannot take that into consideration unless you have read every review posted.
Customer Review: Works Great! Summary: 5 Stars
I recently bought a Fujifilm S700 to replace a Fujifilm F20 and had to download the software to be able to use this card in my camera. With the new update, I was able to just pop in the card and viola! It worked great! I can video record many clips and have space for many pictures. I mainly bought the 4gb size to record longer video events so that I wouldn't have to use my older and larger 8mm camcorder. I've had this card for one month and during that time that I purchased it, it was a good alternative to getting the 8gb card whose prices are still a bit high. Although the digital video quality is not nearly as good as the 8mm tape, it does the job and it's much easier for me to transfer to a DVD.
Customer Review: No Comment - but that's good! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this item for free as part of a special promotion when I bought my 14.7 megapixel Canon PowerShot G10 camera, from Amazon. I have nothing to say about this memory card, but that's what you want. In a digital camera, the memory card should operate quietly in the background, and you should be totally unaware of its presence, and that's how it is with this one. So far, it's recorded all my pictures glitch-free and downloaded them to my computer. The real test of a memory card is how long it lasts, and that will be revealed only by the passage of time. (Note, in my camera the 4 GB formats to 3.79 GB, but even that's more than I'll ever need).
