Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of KingMax 8GB Super Stick =NEW Microsoft Vista Boost Certified= USB Drive. **Washer and Dryer SAFE!Customer Review: GREAT but too small Summary: 4 Stars
Great pricing for 8gb flash drive however it is easy to lose. I lost this flash drive while flipping through my wallet. Guess where I kept it. I also attempted to attach this to my phone but the end is very fragile and it snapped. Made it smaller but the end was still broken.
Good price for 8GB but don't lose it.
Customer Review: Not as bulletproof as they claim Summary: 3 Stars
I bought the 8GB as a replacement for an old 1GB KingMax of similar dimensions.
Tiny has its advantages and disadvantages. Being small, it's quite easily carried around, even on a keychain, which adds to its appeal. The disadvantage is that it can just as easily go missing, prompting me to get a similar, albeit larger capacity model.
Again, taking extra care to make sure it is secured on my keychain with a keyring from an old donor keychain, the KingMax 8GB Super Stick only provided about a month or so of usefulness until a tiny crack appeared on the casing.
While the unit is still operational, the crack was just at the point where the circuitry is attached to the casing (denoted by the slight gray coloured area on the underside). This appears to compromise the water-resistance of the unit which I don't want to test.
That said, the unit is now relegated to home duties as a quick backup unit.
I have replaced this with a steel-cased "Super Talent Pico-C Rugged 8GB" unit (you have to love the way these guys choose names).
Customer Review: Small, inexpensive, but somewhat low quality. Summary: 3 Stars
I loved the drive at first, and slipped it on my keychain. Unfortunately, the weight of my keys pulled down on the drive when it was in the USB port, so after a few weeks, the plastic began to break away from the circuit board. The drive still functions, but I had to put it in the rubber case it came with to avoid more damage. This doubled the size of the drive, and I bought it because of its small form factor.
Since that time, the plastic has been chipping away at USB end as well, and the rubber case's keyring attachment snapped. Although the drive still functions properly, its small plastic case can't cope with everyday wear-and-tear, and I find myself being extra careful with it.
Customer Review: be careful what you wish for! Summary: 3 Stars
This is a really neat little storage device but it had two problems. First was easily solved by turning the stick over and putting it back into the usb port. The second wasn't so simple since, after forgetting I had it with me 3 times the first day I took it in to work, I left the building without it and have seen nothing ov it since. I hadn't had it for long enough to load a lot of stuff on it, and the tiny size was really nice and unobtrusive, but it was Really unobtrusive and I didn't have the personal memory capacity to remember that I needed to remember it. Expensive and frustratin lesson.
Customer Review: Great While it Lasted Summary: 2 Stars
Like others I was intrigued by the small size and relatively large capacity of this micro USB drive. Having 8 GB in a form factor so small you can stow it just about anywhere is great and it got a lot of "wow" from friends and coworkers when I'd pull it out of my wallet. It worked just great...for a few months. After a while it just stopped working. My PC's wouldn't recognize it so into the trash it went, along with my twenty five dollars.
My recommendation - don't waste your money.
