This is one great little deivce! When I got it was a lot smaller than I had imagined. Mine came with this little blue man to carry the drive in. To bad the hole was on the top of the head and not the bottom, it would have made it a whole lot easier to take in and out of him...but I just cut another hole and now it's great!
other thoughts: It's fast, but not super fast in transfer speeds. I didn't really care that it takes me 30-40 secs for 700 mbs to transfer instead of 25... all i wanted it for was for its portability and ability to fit into cramped USB slots on the back of machines. Now all I have to do is keep on using it and see if it will stop working like I have see others review. My thoughts are with those people it got shocked from a front USB port (easily happens a lot with USB's on the front of cases cause they arn't grounded.) I have never had that problem cause i touch the copper part of the stick with my finger and with that same finger at the same time I touch the USB port I am going to plug it into and the shock gets me and not the device and kinda "syncs" the two together with the same current. No more shocking and killing the device in that way :)

The Kingmax 8GB super stick is better than its predecessors, in that it has a hardened form factor. I can't vouch whether it is washer-dryer safe, but the casing does seem sturdier than other models. According to Vista, its memory write speed is 6-7 mbps - the packaging says only 3mbps write, so I'm happy that they understated the speed (or Vista's metrics are inaccurate - unthinkable!). However, the pink external case shaped like a rorsach test pig is just plain ... surreal. It's not integral to the device, and can be discarded (it's predecessors did not have an external case). I think that the marketing committee at Kingmax may have had one too many during happy hour at the local pub. Buy this product - you'll love it - and then lose it. The plastic spring-shaped lanyard easily breaks (thus I lost the drive a day after I wrote the first part of the review). Remove the springy lanyard, and use the the nylon part, and you'll be OK. When you edit a review, you can't change the star rating, otherwise I'd mod this down to a 1.Customer Review: KingMax SuperStick

The first shipment disappointed me because it failed to work within a week of arrival. I couldn't format the drive and the problem only worsened to the point where the drive wouldn't show up in my explorer. I exchanged it and have received the new one today.
It comes packaged with a rubber holder in which you insert the drive. It is a light pink and is shaped like the silhouette of a cartoon girl. Two white dots on the front represent buttons and KINGMAX is in white print on the back. Also packaged is a small double ended lanyard with a rubber spring in between. It seems girly to me and so I don't use it.
The SuperStick is small enough to fit in my wallet and I can transfer 120MB of data in roughly 50 seconds. That's about 2.4 megabytes per second. Windows first calculates a large ammount of time at the beginning of the transfer but becomes quickly smaller and more accurate as the transfer progresses.
Tested on a single core processor 1GB RAM, PC with Windows XP SP3.

Ordered the 8 gig on a friday, got an email saying to expect it in 7-10 days...it got here on tuesday! Awesome...it was ordered on amazon but purchased from thememstore...
Was everything i expected...really small, and just as light...cool factor of 10...the read/write speed is a bit slower than my 4 gig sandisk cruzer, it took maybe 3-4 mins to write 1.5 gigs from my pc's hd to the thumb drive...but still not unreasonable. Im using the thumbdrive as a webserver, so it has lots of pics, vids an music on it...works perfectly...and about 1/4 the size of the san disk cruzer...love it! and the transfer speed is fast enough to run upload the pics and vids to the webserver when accessed..no diff between that and the sandisc...awesome toy!
It came with a little rubber 'snowman' shaped thing, in blue not pink, with a little bungie to attach to a keychain...they recommend using it as ya probably dont want the contacts banging up against your keys...but it's still alot smaller and lighter than the cruzer...

Alright, I'm writing this after mine broke, but I've had it for about 2 years and I broke it because I left it in my laptop which I stuffed in my bag.
I don't have the same experience as others who have found it less than durable. Mine has traveled in my wallet with me at least 100,000 air miles in 2008 alone and used in offices around the world.
Everyone I have shared it with were amazed by the size/capacity and yes, while it can be inserted both ways, I found that the contacts should always face up in whatever laptop used and that included people all over Europe and Asia.
I just wish now I can find one even larger than 8GB. I frequently used it to watch movies on long flights and that's where it's just perfect unlike other devices which frankly get in the way.
