My 2.5 year old son has a small head for his age. And therefore small ears. Headphones made for adults were WAY too big (even on the smallest setting) to stay on his head. And we didn't have earbuds that would stay in his ears, either. He would fidget and complain and try to take off the ill-fitting earphones and would often prefer to watch his media player WITHOUT sound! We're gearing up for a 7-8 hour flight to the UK soon, so we knew it was imperative to find something that would work. I was even contemplating modifying the headphones we have so they'd fit his head when I saw these headphones and read the great reviews. I'm so glad we decided to go ahead and get them. They arrived today. Excited to see how he'd do with them, I opened them when he was around. He immediately took them and tried to put them on his head. When they were on, he didn't try to take them off at all! He's now been sitting next to me on the couch watching Yo Gabba Gabba on his media player! We were looking for headphones to go with the Fisher-Price IXL we bought our almost 3 year old daughter for Christmas, and decided on these. I always try to read through as many reviews of a product as possible before purchasing online, and these seemed like our best option.
My daughter loves wearing them, and never complains about not being able to hear through them. The volume limiter cable that came with them ended up getting a short in it after about 2 weeks of use, though. I emailed Kidz Gear on a Friday afternoon, they responded the following Monday, and I received 2 new cables 2 days later. This was very important to me, as the safety of her ears was my top priority when shopping for headphones. I have listened to her music through the headphones, and even with the volume turned all the way up on her IXL & the volume control on the headphone cord, they were not too loud.
I would recommend these to anyone. The product & customer service provided by the company are both excellent!

We ordered two of these headphones for our 4 & 6 year old children to use when playing their Leapsters. One pair worked fine, and the other had intermittent sound. I had only opened one pair at first to make sure we liked them, so when I opened the 2nd pair (with the sound defect) it was after the 30 day return period. I called Amazon customer service, and had no problems getting a return mailing label and replacement item.
Regarding the actual headphones, my 4 & 6 year olds wear these longer than any other headphones they've tried (ear plugs, around the ear, plush animal shaped ones, etc.) The Kidz Gear headphones fit well, easily adjust to the child's head size, and must filter out ambient sound quite well because I usually have to lift an ear to get my child's attention while wearing the headphones. I like the sound control dial on the cord as well.
Kudos to Kidz Gear for a great product and to Amazon for great customer service.

We just returned from a vacation with our 5 and 3 year old girls which involved a 12 hour drive each way. These headphones were a lifesaver and worth every penny. The girls were able to plug their headphones into their TV's, Leapster game and Tag Reading System. This allowed everyone in the car to hear what they wanted to without the distraction from other noise in the car. It really helped keep a calm and quiet environment in the car for most of the trip. The headphones are comfortable for kids and easy to use (they can put them on and turn up the volume by themselves). I decided to purchase these after reading other people's reviews that mentioned the low volume of other headsets and the quality of the audio in these. I rated 4 stars for durability b/c we haven't had them long enough to see how they hold up. They survived our first trip and are made well...but I'm sure my girls will eventually find a way to destroy them! :)Customer Review: Finally! Headphones that don't break!

I have purchased 3 or 4 headphones for my 4 y/o daughter. Mainly for use on her computer. She is apparently very rough on headphones because they never last more than a couple weeks. Typically the headset itself will fall apart, we've never had trouble with wires coming out. I think she pulls too hard when she takes them on and off. I bought 2 pairs of these. One for my daughter and one for my 5 y/o stepson. We have had them for 3 or 4 weeks now and they are still just fine! The kids dont fuss with them as much because they are the perfect size for a small head. And when you adjust the size they don't slip bigger or smaller like most other headphones we've had. These aren't colorful or fun but they work and are totally worth the money. We even took them to France and they survived being pulled in and out of backpacks, falling under airplane seats, etc etc. These are wonderful!
