Customer Review: Perfect product for toddler

I purchased these a little over a year ago for my then 2 year old. Primary use was for air travel and apps on my iTouch. The fit has been great and sound quality wonderful. The head band stays put and still has room to grow. She was able to hear over airplane noise. Earpiece easily flips around (so I can double-check sound level). They are also very sturdy. Since first using them last year she uses them all the time for both apps and music (and has commandeered the iTouch as her own).
About 2 months ago they suddenly stopped working. At the suggestion of a comment found on this site, I contacted Kidz Gear customer service. I had an immediate response to my inquiry. I was able to provide them with my amazon order number and mailed the nonfunctioning set back to them. Of course, the set had stopped working within a week prior to an international trip, and I shared that with the customer service rep. Kidz Gear had a replacement set here prior to our departure.
I am actually about to purchase my second pair. Ours were broken in an unfortunate tug-of-war incident that was clearly not a manufacturing defect.
In today's age of deteriorating quality both in products and in customer service, I have been very pleasantly surprised and satisfied by both. These are a great product at a great price.

After researching headsets for my 5.5 yr old, I bought this set and the Griffin myphones. I thought we could compare them, and if we liked both, one set could be for my 17 month old, too. After two weeks, my 5 yr old and I both prefer this set. It has a wider adjustment range, (fits the toddler AND fits me, an avg.-headed woman, but doesn't fit larger-headed husband) The sound quality is excellent, the plastic seems durable and flexible, and should withstand moderately rough use.
The options for two ways of controlling volume is particularly nice, b/c my son mostly listens to audio books, but also listens to music sometimes. The flexibility is great, b/c other headsets "volume limiters" just lower the overall volume, thus causing the spoken word or quieter songs, soft music (esp. lullaby style music) to not get loud enough to hear.
Before purchasing this headset, I called Kidz Gear on the phone to ask specifically about the decibel restriction issue above. I was promptly answered by a friendly, polite man with plenty of good information and the willingness to explain it all. Customer service seemed excellent, should I need help in the future.
I am a research-nut and not very easy to please. Despite these qualities, I would buy this again and would recommend it to others.

These were purchased specifically to allow my daughter to watch movies while on an airplane. Because she does not like loud noises I did not use the decibel reduction capability - she doesn't alter the volume. The sound quality and volume is quite sufficient to be used over the dull roar of an commercial airline flight.
The earphones fit my daughter's five year old head very well. I'm a over 6 foot tall adult and I was able to use them too (barely). The sides are easily adjustable to fit the wearer and don't seem to slip.
A couple issues:
1) It would be nice if the package included a storage method. I ended up using a Crown-Royal bag. :)
2) There are both left and right cables attached to the headphones. When dealing with children (and some adults), it would be nice to have only one wire so things don't get tangled so easily.
3) Other reviews mention that the cables are not well secured to the headphones. I did not encounter any issues, but I was cautious not to exert any unnecessary force on the wires. It would be nice if these connections were reinforced (e.g. shrink tubing or the like).

I couldn't believe that I actually decided to purchase these for an upcoming long plane flight for my almost 2yr old daughter. I thought to myself that this will just be a gigantic waste of money because no matter how well they are supposed to fit a toddler there was no way she was going to keep these on and would probably break them inside of 15 mins. WOW was I wrong! I could not believe what I was seeing. We tried them out at home the day they arrived and she sat and watched an entire movie without taking them off and she actually fought to keep them on all day. I couldn't believe it. The volume limiter is also a great idea since every toddler knows how to operate every single button on all electronics. I also have a 11 month old that when she saw her big sister wearing these of course she had to also and even though they are not designed for a child that small they stayed on pretty well. Of course she could not sit still too long.
Bottom line I don't believe you could be disappointed with this purchase. They are inexpensive and they work. Of course on a plane trip with 2 kids even if they work for 10mins your happy.

I ordered two pair of the Kidz Gear wired headphones for my children. They adjust very small but even fit me (adult with small head) and seem very comfortable on my children. The sound quality is excellent, rivaling or perhaps surpassing that of my own headphones. The volume limiter is a wonderful feature; Kidz Gear is smart to include it as a separate piece/circuit since it wouldn't be appropriate for all media/content. Our volume limiters weren't working correctly and one call to Kidz Gear got me a call back within a day and new limiters on the way immediately - excellent customer service. They really seem to stand behind their product. These are a great choice for young ones using music players, etc. because using them correctly (either with or without the volume limiters) there is less potential for damage to their hearing than with continued earbud use (higher sound pressure levels). I can't speak to durability as we just began using them, but, as with all electronics - take good care of them. I would definitely recommend these.
