We use a Pactor Modem with our Single Sideband Radios both on our boat and in our truck to send and receive emails when we are in remote locations. Our new Laptop doesn't have a serial port and the Modem doesn't have a USB connector so this adapter provides the proper interface and works flawlessly and the performance is what is required for this type of setup. It was recommended by the people who support using SSB radios for email. Essentially, it saved us from having to buy a newer version of the Pactor Modem with the USB interface built in, a savings of about $1000.Customer Review: It works where others fail!!!

I'm thrilled! I was using an IOGEAR that I got from Radio Shack and it worked fine to hook up to my Uniden Scanner but it would NOT work with my old Sharp Zaurus ZR-5800 PDA. I'm using VISTA OS and the Keyspan works flawlessly. Install was quick, no trouble at all. I did not even bother with the disk, I downloaded the latest driver from the manufacturer website before I even got it. Keyspan units for any type of adapter for electronic is the only way to go. They cost a little more but you will be repaid by a high quality product that works right out of the box. This is an absolute necessity when using a auto diagnostic unit and you want to connect it to your laptop to download data. I have been in the computer/Telecom business for over 32 years and you just don't buy anything but Keyspan if they make an adapter for your needs. Fast shipping, good price. I purchased this item to replace a cheaper model with a damaged molded cable. Given this model uses a standard detachable USB cable, I no longer have to worry about needing to discard the electronics when a customer steps on my laptop.
I'm using it with a Lenovo T61, running Windows XP to administer Cisco devices via console ports using PuTTY. I loaded the drivers, plugged it in and it just works.
My only concern is misplacing the small driver CD or not being able to download drivers in the future.

This one works with Cisco 3750's as advertised. It works with our legacy Nortel switches as well. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is that I have not tried it on all our Cisco equipment but don't expect any issues. Works with cut and paste as well as updating firmware on Nortel and Cisco using IBM/Lenovo laptops... No issues - and shipping was fast (as usual from Amazon - Thanks)
