Customer Review: Surprisingly disappointed

I bought this mouse about a year ago from the Apple Store in Pittsburgh. Overall, it's been a good mouse, with a few caveats. First of all, the battery life is abysmal. I went to this bluetooth mouse from a portable Microsoft IR USB mouse. With that switch, I went from about 6-7 months of battery life to about a month. It seems like I'm always seeing the red blinking light telling me to change batteries.
Second of all, there is a design flaw as far as cleaning is concerned. There are several open gaps to the innards of the mouse and dirt, finger oil, dust, etc. easily and constantly gets into it and there is no way to clean it. The same is true for the track ball and buttons.
The ergonomics of this mouse actually leave me in pain sometimes. It's a great travel mouse, but it's thin design is too close to the desk and after a day of work can leave my arm and hand hurting.
My final gripe is the durability of the construction. Glued on to the bottom of the mouse are 4 black plastic tabs that cover the 4 tiny screws that hold the mouse together. Within three or four months, two of them had fallen completely off, causing the plastic on the bottom of my mouse to wear down to the point I'm starting to worry that it will wear through completely.
With all of the mouse choices out there at this price point, I would find another.
