Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kensington Noise Cancelling Headphones ( 33084 )Customer Review: Works Great Summary: 4 Stars
I was skeptical of the performance based on the price, but my brother in-law let me try his on a car ride, and the noise reduction was fantastic. I fly a lot, and needed something relatively small and doesn't require a bulky case. These work great. The only problem i have had is the on - off switch is easy to turn on while in the bag. i solved the problem by removing the battery when i am not flying for a while. Nothing will reduce all of the noise but these substantially reduce the NIOSE level on a plane. but it doesn't reduce voice quality, or volume. and they are a great set of headphones on or off for an MP3 player.
Customer Review: For the money, they work great Summary: 4 Stars
While these headphones will never rival Bose or any other more expensive brand of noice cancelling headphones, you are also not paying the hundred + dollars for these. I recently took my headphones on a business trip. I had played with them in the office, and found them to remove the air blower noise very well. The ultimate test was the plane trip. I found that they effectively removed to low hum of the airplane, and sufficently boosted the audio, to where the aircraft noise was no longer noticed.
The ear cups do get a tad hot, but truly, for the price, these are a great purchase.
Customer Review: Best noise cancelling phones for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I've had three different makes of noise cancelling headphones and these are easily the best for under $100 and possibly close to $200. I haven't flown with them yet but using them while cutting my grass told they are very comfortable and seem to lack that somewhat annoying hiss ever present in lower priced n/c headphones. I think by now most purchasers of these type of headphones know they don't completely shut out the outside world but these do a much better job of that than most. I'll reserve a 5 star rating for the $299-$349 Bose but these actually are a 4*+!
Very nice product.
Customer Review: Nice headphones for the price Summary: 4 Stars
These headphones are pretty nice. They cancel out alot of the noise, I had some f16's flying over last night and it canceled out the roar of the engines. I think they will do the trick for what I bought them for which is beeing able to hear what I'm watching on an airplane. I'm sure this is better out there but for the price these can't be beat. They are comfortable (i wore them for 4 hours last night and barely knew they were on). They are portable with a good pouch to store them in. I'm happy with the purchase.
Customer Review: Impressive for the Price Summary: 4 Stars
I've had my headphones for a couple of months and figured it was worth taking a chance based on the low price. I was impressed by the sound as well as the noise cancelling capability. I'd estimate the noise cancelling at somewhere between 6-12 dB on low frequencies... plenty good enough for 80% of music lovers. I suspect the Bose or Sony might be up to 20 dB noise reduction. BTW, each 6 dB is like 2x less loud. This is a well worthwhile purchase at $25 except for the true audiophiles.
