Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Kensington DomeHub 7-port USB 2.0 Hub with FlyLightCustomer Review: Very worthwhile hub Summary: 5 Stars
I originally bought this hub for my Mac G4 Powerbook but once I added a Mini the hub really started to shine - the Mini is great but has only 2 USB ports. One for the monitor, one for the wireless connector left ZERO.
I added this hub, simply plugged it in, and it's perfect - now I have lots of options (oh, like a printer, for example!)
It is also quite compact and matches my 23" monitor which is kind of a bonus. My desktop looks great, and the hub has not only a space age look to it but also is quite stable and does not move around at all. Worth every penny.
Customer Review: A keeper Summary: 5 Stars
I have used different hubs over the years and find this one to be well built and reliable. This is not a fancy piece of equipment but it this day and age, to have something do what it is designed to do reliably is in itself amazing. But Kensington's Dome hub does just that. Other reviews have complained about usb cords not staying plugged in the usb ports. I have not had any such problems. I also like the weight of the hub. It stays where you put it. In short "It works well"
I plan to buy another one in the next few weeks and would definitely recommend this to anyone.
Customer Review: Great stuff - funky! Summary: 5 Stars
Recently I discovered my old USB was only 1.1 thanks to my Ipod shouting at me for quicker DLs. D'oh, didn't even realize!
So I looked into a hub that was 2.0, could handle up to 7 inputs and would put all this together in a neat package. The Kensignton does just that. It is sitting pretty on my matching silver case and tidies up my cables greatly. The light up feature is handy for a quick check on whats in the back. The weight of the hub is very good, no pulling of cables so far and I have 5 inputs. This little hub really is the business, practical and funky to boot!
Customer Review: I've got 3 of these and will continue to buy them! Summary: 5 Stars
I store a lot of video files on my laptop so I need a lot of space. I have 8 external hard drives attached to my laptop through 2 of these Kensington DomeHubs. Along with the hard drives, I connect numerous other items. I have filled up 2 sets of these hubs so I just purchased a 3rd. It's amazing to be able to use 1 USB port on my laptop to connect all these extras. I have been using the Kensington model for a couple years and have yet to have a problem with them. As I add more data to my storage area, I'll continue to add more Kensington 7 port hubs to connect this data.
Customer Review: It does what is says Summary: 5 Stars
To the point: It says what it does and does what it says. Something nice for a product these days. The port on the top is especially useful and the hub is quite stable. It came with a power adaptor but I decided to try it without plugging it in. It seems to work perfectly fine unplugged from a power source. Also came with a light that plugs into one of the USB ports. I have it plugged in but I am not sure why since it isn't bright enough to provide more than a candle's worth of light. Still, it looks interesting. I have not regrets with this product.
