I was having problems with USB connectors coming just loose enough to make devices function erratically before I got this hub. No more problems now. I only wish it had a firewire port or two as well. I had 7 USB devices plugged into the back of my Mac G5, with the cables hanging down from the ports. Gravity tends to loosen the connectors after a while. With the Kensington hub sitting on my desk, the cables lie on the desktop, a tolerable bit of clutter, and now gravity doesn't loosen the plugs. I tried a hub of a different brand some years ago but wasn't happy with it. I've never missed with Kensington. Wouldn't part with my Kensington TurboRing "mouse" for anything. I like this USB hub. I bought one and liked it so much, I bought another for my other house. It's heavy and does not move around. Easy setup, the USB on the top is great for the junk drives/flash drives. I am very pleased with the quality - and the flashlight is nice too, though I don't really use it. I think the USB hub looks nice, but this last one I bought, I put behind a little door on my desk, so I could use the light in there to light up the cabinet I suppose to see where to plug things in. Haha.
Anyways, I highly recommend. If you don't choose this product, at least get a USB hub that plugs into an AC outlet. I have had more success with these than those powered only by the USB.

This is exactly what I needed to tame the mess of USB cables surrounding my PC. What I like best about it is the fact that it is WEIGHTED. This means is does not slide around all over the place on your desk like other (lightweight) hubs do. It's small (about the size of 1/2 a large Florida orange or a small grapefruit) and it offers all the features I wanted: weight, lots of ports (7) and LED port-in-use indicators for each port. the top-mounted port is nice too; great for plugging in and removing things frequently such as flash drives. This is one of the best PC gadgets I have bought in some time. Oh--and the free light that comes with it is a neato bonus. Highly recommended.Customer Review: Shapely Hub

Even though it says "Weighted" for this hub, it could use a little more. Since I placed it at the edge of my desk with the usb chords leading over the side, it wanted to tip a little. So I stuck it to my desk with two sided tape. It's rock solid now & there is no clutter of chords across the desktop.
I like the dome shape & the little green lights on the front showing which terminal is in use. I took it out of the box, plugged it in & it's working great.
The light that comes with it gives off a nice useable glow to light up my keyboard.
The port on the top of the dome is convenient for devices that I only leave plugged in temporarily, like a camera.

I bought one of these for my wife's mac. Its been absolutely great! I really like the fact that the hub is weighted, so it doesn't move around all over the place like a cheap plastic 4-port hub would. I have not had any issue with usb plugs coming out of the slots. There are six ports in the back of the unit, and the seventh is on top for items like thumb drives which you want to be able to access quickly. The other six ports are a little harder to get to if you have a cluttered desk, but otherwise are fine.
The included usb flex light is useless, don't factor it in your decision whether or not to purchase this product.
