Kensington Car Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G, 3G (Black) I had the similar problems cited by others with the car charger over-heating and then found the iPhone over-heated and not fully charged as well. Initially the iPhone quit working when unpugged, but after cooling down re-started and seems to be OK now.Customer Review: Complete Garbage

I bought this so I could charge both my iphone 3g and my son's ipod nano while we were on road trips. It worked great on both.. FOR TWO WEEKS. Then it stopped charging and the piece that plugs into the lighter smells like burnt electronics. Luckily my trip took me close to an Apple store and I picked up a Griffin charger in there to replace it.
I'd avoid this piece of junk.

WARNING!!!!WARNING!!! Do not buy this product. Very misleading. I bought 2 for my IPHONE 3G. They do not work. They did not even work with my regular IPOD. I returned it. Do not waste your $$. The only thing that I was happy with was Amazon's return policy. I was able to return them with no problems.Customer Review: Over heats

I have owned this charger for over a year, and it constantly overheats. It has a blue light that indicates when it is charging. In the summer, I can expect it to operate for about five minutes. It must then be unplugged and allowed to cool. It takes me 2-3 hours to charge my 3G iPhone.
