Decided on this charger because I liked that it doubled as an extra USB cable so I could charge my iphone while using it at work. For the first week, this worked ideally and I congratulated myself on my good choice. However, the past several days, the cord will sometimes work and sometimes won't. I haven't discovered any trick to it. If I disconnect it for a while and then try reconnecting it, I can sometimes get it to charge. The frustrating thing is it will pretend to charge it. The lightning bolt/charging icon will appear in the battery, but then I'll receive a message saying I have 20% battery. Also, it doesn't sync with the computer. I haven't had any luck removing photos using this cord.
I have only used it in the car once, and it didn't work at all. Hopefully I discovered its uselessness in time to get a refund. This is also my first review with Amazon, although I've been buying from here for years. This product annoyed me enough that I am hoping to spare others the hassle.

Was thrilled with this product initially. I bought two, one for myself and one for my wife. Both initially worked well. However, after less than a year, mine has stopped working consistently. Sometimes it would charge my iPhone. Other times, it would feel hot to the touch and would not charge my iPhone. Overheating? Would not buy again. Quality control is hit or miss. This unit is attractive and does charge the iPhone. However, on my 2007 Toyota Yaris and on my mother in law's 2008 Toyota Sienna, the iPhone emits a high feedback sound when connected to the charger and the auxillary input. I'm not sure if this is Toyota's fault or Kensington's.
It basically means I can't charge and listen to music at the same time.

The Amazon product description did not include the length of the cord, but I hoped it was the same as the cord only product Amazon sells. Unfortunate, the cord is the same length as the Apple cord, and it is too short for office use let alone in a car.
