This product works as advertised. I had purchased another iPhone charger that turned out not to be 3G compatible or even iPhone compatible later. This worked right out of the box and is very well made. It will also charge anything that takes a chrage from USB since you can simply change the cble to match your device. I highly recommend this over some of the cheaper alternatives.Customer Review: as advertised

This is a simple device that is designed to do only one thing - charge an iPhone. Despite some negative reviews I bought one because it was a reasonable price (for an apple accessory) and it worked. A couple months later I bought another one for my wife's car, however, after a few days it stopped working.
Being the curious type I cracked open the case and found the cause of the problem - a loose wire. A quick resolder and voila...better than new.
So if you think you don't have the skills (or at least a friend to) fix it I would rate this ONE STAR
If you are handy, it's probably worth the price and 5 minute repair so I would rate this FIVE STARS
