Customer Review: Standard computer lock at the office.

This is the lock that everyone has at the office, and is built well. It's the next generation lock, getting away from the older cylindar style that you see kids popping open on You Tube in 5 seconds. The key itself is somewhat longer than the older units it replaces, but still smaller than a car key.
I lock and unlock my lock daily without issue and it feels very secure and is a great visual deterrant for the casual office thief. I have (3).. one for each of my monitors, and one for my docking station/laptop.

This is rated to be the most secure notebook lock in Kensington's catalogue so I bought it. I ignore the previous reviewer's comment that it scratched his Macbook Pro and I also ended up dinging it a bit as well.
Now I decided to avoid further damage my Macbook Pro by placing a small piece of transparent tape on the area where the lock connects with the laptop and poking a hole to accommodate the male lock connector.
I know it is a cheap solution but it does work and no one's the wiser.

Given that you do have something to anchor the lock down with the product is great. The product seems to be very durable and works seamlessly with the lock-slot built into laptops and other electronics. There have been times that it took more time that preferred to get the lock either locked or unlocked but never have I ever had an issue where i was unable to get the the electronic device. All in all i think that it is worth the buy and that there aren't any prevalent flaws in this security device.Customer Review: Does the trick

I just received this today and had it locking down my HP Pavillion dv9000 in about three minutes. Seems to fit the locking slot just fine and does the trick of keeping it locked down so it can't walk away from my desk. Cable is thick and coated, so it won't scratch. One caveat, this thing is NOT light nor does it roll up into a neat little package. By comparison, it's a bit lighter and compact than an old printer cable (before USB). It's the weight factor that knocks off a star.Customer Review: Fits Alienware M15X

This lock works on the Alienware M15X without any modifications. When I was researching what lock to get, I found that earlier Alienware models were apparently difficult to fit locks to that would fit them without modifications. The new case for the M15X does not seem to have this problem, at least not with this lock. So this is just to let anyone else who might wonder if this lock will work, it does. Fits perfectly.
