Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Genius PenSketch 9X12, USB, With PhotoShop. 9x 12 working area for graphic design. Cordless wheel mouse and rubber-coated pen.Customer Review: Drawing Tablet Summary: 4 Stars
works great and loads easily. makes drawing easier. loads drawings to computer with ease and saves all the drawings.
Customer Review: Not professional Summary: 3 Stars
Its cheap ! But if a good tablet is critical to your work go for Wacom ones. I didnt want to spend too much, coz I'm not a professional artist. This tablet would be bad decision if you know that you need a tablet. I didnt know, I wanted to experiment and for that purpose its good. But a better option would be to ask someone who knew. You can go for that option coz now I KNOW and I suggest that its not good enough for professionals.
Its pen is jittery so is its mouse, being an artist the precision that you look for is simply missing.
Every thing else is OK, like it worked with little work required on my part after connecting it to the computer.
Customer Review: Genius PenSketch 9x12 Summary: 3 Stars
I am continuing to educate myself on this product. Install was easy. However a more intuitative manuel would help. I consider myself very computer literate, however with this product the help needs a more 1,2,3. The video tutorial helps, but running the video and working with the sketch is hard.
Customer Review: Save a little longer and buy a Wacom Summary: 2 Stars
This product is essentially a toy. I purchased one after my serial Wacom was left behind in the upgrade to Windows 7. I have a dual monitor setup. I could never get the tablet to work satisfactorily across the two monitors. On startup, I would be restricted to my primary monitor. If I put the computer to sleep and resumed it I got tablet access across both monitors but lost pressure sensitivity ... *very* annoying.
Don't be fooled by the 'user-assignable' pen buttons. The buttons may only be programmed for 'left/right/double' clicks. Tough buns if you want to program something like the 'Alt', 'CTRL' or another modifier for use in your favourite graphic design package. Requests to Genius support were promptly responded to but I was left feeling their hearts weren't really in it.
All in all a disappointing experience.
I have since sourced a second-hand USB Wacom that functions perfectly with Windows 7 and I'm so much happier and more productive.
Save up and buy a Wacom is my advice.
Customer Review: Genius 12x9 Summary: 2 Stars
Seems to work OK.
Limited extras compared to Wacom tablets.
OK for the price.
Would I buy it again... yes, if I couldn't afford a Wacom.
