Perhaps not for the proffesional who has 7 different tripods and mono-pods for every occasion, this device is more for the casual and Adventurous Photographer. In my own experience so far, it has been an excellent tool when in the wilderness. The tripod could be manipulated to hang off trees, on un-even boulders, or many other places, and the toughness and strength of the pad, and the many Rubber edges on it made is Stay fastened right where I wanted it. Again though, it was more for using the timer and taking photo's of myself and the person I was with. It's hard to find someone to hold your camera out there! So really, this Tri-pod is for those that don't have someone to hold the camera, or are in places that are hard to use a regular tripod. Honestly, if you use your camera as your web cam, this would work for that too.Customer Review: Great little stand

I wanted a tripod for use and better stability during timed shots, and this little thing works great.
All its joints are stiffly flexible (they won't move out of place) and can be adjusted to grab almost anything.
It comes with a clip that screws into the bottom of your camera for easy attachment and removal from the tripod, which is a handy feature. What's more, it hardly weighs a thing, so its compact and light - great for backpacking trips and the like.
I'm not a big tripod consumer, but it seems that if you looking for an simple, small, light tripod that can be used anywhere, you should choose this item (maybe a different color, depending on your preference, but..)
Great product, I hope to get continued use from it in the coming years.

Photography in difficult light has become so much easier with this "extra hand". I've used it from Anchorage to Istanbul squeezing it onto patio chairs, car tops and tree limbs for perfectly stable support. With carry-on space at a premium I love the fact that it is smaller and more versatile than my larger tripods while still giving my camera the stability low-lighting shots require. I just returned from James Bay, Victoria, BC, where I took fantastic evening photos from a cramped perch where no regular sized tripod would have fit. What began as a travel accessory has become my tripod of choice. The attachment mount is small enough that my camera case easily accommodates it. The Gorillapod remains at the top of my all time favorite Christmas gifts list.Customer Review: Completely delighted with the product

In the past half year I have obtained both a Cannon Sureshot and a Flip Video camcorder. I didn't want to invest in a full size tripod, but it quickly because apparent that I needed some sort of tripod for both of them. For instance, I have wanted to make a video on the Flip to send (don't laugh) to a dog friend (we want to see if he'll respond to me saying hello to him on TV), but without a simple tripod there was no way that I could do it.
This tripod is more than strong enough to support either the camera or the camcorder. It is exceptionally easy to use and it weighs very little, making it a snap to toss into my camera bag.
If you just need a tripod for very simple purposes, I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with this.

This is an awesome product. The rubber grips hold on to just about anything, anywhere. We've attached it securely to lampposts, gates, and trees. Very convenient for nighttime or long-exposure photography, much easier than lugging around a heavy full-sized tripod. It's also very portable; we keep it clamped onto the strap of the camera bag when not in use.
My only caution would be to pay careful attention to the weight limit. I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and belatedly discovered that his heavier camera tended to collapse the Gorillapod when it was used as a normal tripod. However, when the Gorillapod is used to grip onto less standard surfaces, it holds up his camera just fine. And it has no problem with my lighter camera.
