Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of GE 26191 Duplex Wall Jack Adapter (White)Customer Review: Works great! Summary: 5 Stars
Bought to replace two that went bad. Perfect for my all in one and phone line. The price is great for an online offering.
Customer Review: Y Adapter Does the Trick and It's White Summary: 4 Stars
First, the technical: This is a Y or T device. It connects 4 pins (red, green, black, yellow) to two sets of 4 pins (the standard 4 center pins of a 6-pin RJ11 jack). Thus, you can use this for two-lines. It is NOT a splitter. There are other products which will split the 4 wires of the plug into two separate, 2-line sockets, typically marked L1 and L2. This is NOT one of those. Both devices plugged into it will get the SAME 4 wires (2-lines).
Next, the construction: It is a quite cheap, made-in-China product. It feels cheap and has some bits of corrosion on the (brass plated-looking) contacts. Not impressive. It compares to others at local electronics stores that sell for 99 cents. The ones at local stores were, for me, beige. I have white outlets, white jacks, white phones, etc., and I didn't want a goofy beige adapter. So, I bought a few of thes GE ones from Amazon which are WHITE.
Finally, the rating. Considering the cheap construction and price premium for a different color, I cannot give it 5 stars.
Customer Review: GE Duplex Wall jack Adapter Summary: 4 Stars
It does the job correctly and on top of that, it was really inexpensive. I needed to split my line to a fax and this works perfectly!
Customer Review: But not suitable for 'phone and DSL-modem' Summary: 3 Stars
You can not split line between phone and DSL modem (with this device).
The rest is OK
Customer Review: 10 cent phone device for $4 Summary: 2 Stars
These things used be all over in phone boxes. Now when you need one you go to radio shack and they want $ 10. It's unbelievable ! This thing did the job but it's worth 10 cents.
