Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Jabra SP5050 Bt SpeakerphoneCustomer Review: Much better than expected Summary: 5 Stars
Having looked for a bluetooth speaker phone to use with my iPhone, I did research everything I could find. The reviews of the Jabra SP5050 were excellent on the whole, but I was naturally suspicious as things are often not as good as advertsied. I wanted to use the speaker phone in a convertible Mustang, and thought that the noise with the roof up (the Mustang isn't exactly a quiet car!) may make the unit less than useful. Quite the contrary. I can not only use the Jabra with the roof up, but also with the roof down - and at speeds up to about 45-50mph. Very impressive.
Connection to the iPhone is simple and so far hasn't dropped a call.
The thing seems to hold charge for ever - I haven't had to recharge it in two weeks.
It's neat, and well designed. The only downside is that the on/off and connected lights are weak, particularly with the roof down, but then they'd need to be searchlights to to be seen in those conditions.
I'm so impressed, I just ordered another from (CCMACESSORIES - very fast turnaround - thank you) for my wife to use in her Honda van.
I'd certainly recommend this and it's much better than a thing stuck in your ear making you look like something from the Borg in Star Trek - that's unless you want to look like a Nerd!
Customer Review: Best BT SpeakerPhone of the three I've bought Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned two previous Motorola bluetooth speakerphones for my automobile and both of them sucked. They sounded bad AND they weren't nearly LOUD enough to use while your are driving at highway speeds and running the heating/cooling system.
I was in Costco in December 2007 and I saw a Jabra SP505 on sale for $64.00. I had never seen this model before so I whipped out my iPhone, did some quick research and bought the unit. I got back to my car, plugged in the provided charger and quickly started making calls to multiple friends and family. Everyone I spoke with said the sound quality was excellent on their end. From my end, the SP5050 is far and away, hands down the BEST bluetooth speakerphone I've ever used. It's LOUD and it sounds great.
Aesthetically, the SP5050 is sleek and pleasing to look at and hold in the hand. Operationally, the unit is simple and has worked flawlessly with my iPhone and MacBook Pro.
If you've wanted a BT speakerphone before but held off, your time is now...buy the SP5050 and be happy!
Customer Review: Excellent, simple, easy to operate Summary: 5 Stars
I got this after not doing my research and spending $150 on the Toothpik (don't bother with it, it is horrible). I thought these things were going to be completely useless, with horrible sound quality and a bunch of echoes.
Was I ever wrong. It is literally like speaking on the phone when it is clipped to the visor. It gets a little wacky if you put it so the microphone is pointed AWAY from you, but that's not how it is meant to be used. You can even speak with it in the passenger seat.
You can turn the damn blue light off, which is something most other models lack.
The volume is more than adequate. You won't be able to roll the windows down, crank the stereo, and have a conversation. But you don't have to yell, either.
There's really only one button for the majority of the work, and it makes sense.
I don't think you'll be disappointed if you need one of these. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised and I just bought another for her.
Customer Review: After you figure it out.. it works great! Summary: 5 Stars
I've used bluetooth head sets, earpieces - and had a short-lived affair with an expensive in-car handsfree installation that was a complete bust. The ear things work great, but the battery life sucks, and it was just not comfortable (for me). This little skinny bugger fits right on your visor, and after you figure out what all the various beeps mean, works very well. I have had no comments from anyone about how I sound - they all assume it's just my 'regular' cellphone. One cool thing: it turns itself off if you take your phone out of the car and move away from logical reception. I've used the voice-dial thing for the first time with this, too. Works like a charm to press the unit for a couple seconds, wait for the beep and reponse - say 'name dial' - wait for the response - then say the name. All in all, I'm quite pleased. Very slim profile (how do they do that?), the entire unit is the 'button' and it's got good voice quality. And for the price - can't be beat. Get one for yourself.
Customer Review: Can't Beat It For The Price Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for something to use in the car. Most speaker systems are either bulky or require complicated installation. This item works exactly as described. It only took a few minutes to pair with my phone and it clips neatly to the visor. Sound quality is quite good with the windows up. There is some wind noise with either the sunroof open or windows down. That is expected from any speaker system, though. This does exactly what I was looking for. The only complaint I have is the included charger is a car adapter. This is fine, except some cars (including mine) disable the lighter port when the car is not running. This means I can only charge the unit while driving. This is minor inconvenience. I have searched and not found a regular plug charger to work indoors. I'm still giving this unit five stars because the type of adapter is clearly disclosed in the description. It would just be better if there were also a plug adapter. For the money, you can't beat the sleek look and quality.
