I love this case! I've been carrying my iPod around in a make-up bag because I couldn't find a case that I could fit both the iPod and my earbud collection. I have a second gen iPod Nano and it fits perfectly in this case. The make-up bag had no protection to it at all; it only kept it all together.
The case: This is a hard "shell" case. Opening the case was a bit tetchy the first couple of times--the zipper was a bit stiff. After I had opened and closed the zipper a couple of times, it loosened up--which is not to say that it doesn't stay closed. It's just easier to zip and unzip. There is a bit of netting on either side of the case that will hold in place whatever you can put behind it. I have my Nano on one side and on the other side, I have two pairs of JBud Earbuds. My Nano and earbuds are now protected AND together. I like that.
