Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of JBuds J2 Premium Hi-Fi Noise-Isolating Earbuds -Onyx Black

Customer Review: Perfect for light use
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered these a month or two ago, and after trying out so many other earbuds, these are definitely my favorite in terms of sound quality and comfort. The basses are deep enough to almost feel, and I've been able to wear these for hours on end without worrying about discomfort.

The only comment I would say about the earbuds is that the construction isn't the best. After about a month of moderate to heavy use, my right earbud no longer works correctly; only when the end is twisted and bent at a certain angle does sound come through. Most of the time, music doesn't come through at all. However, I'm not docking a star yet; I've read that JLAB has great customer service and I'm hoping that they will replace my broken pair.

Even if I do not get a replacement, I'd be willing to buy these again.

EDIT 6/13/10
JLab has been amazing for the past six months since I purchased these earbuds. They have already replaced my original broken pair, AND replaced my replacement pair.
Their sound quality is definitely the best, and although it does not seem too durable, JLab's excellent customer service makes the replacement process easy.
Still 5 stars.

Customer Review: very clear sound; good noise cancellation

These buds are for those people who cannot afford the AudioTechnica price tag. The $15 or so that I paid for these are well worth the money. Really.

* I was impressed with the simple packaging (the sealed plastic boxes other earbuds like the ones Sennheiser are just irritating to open).

* I had a jBuds for 1.5 years before these and was really impressed with those too. Had to get rid of that when I pulled the line off one of the earplugs accidentally. Thankfully the j2 seems to have a more solid construction near the earbuds.

* I didn't feel that the treble response was too high that some of the others saw - in fact, I found the bass response to be just right and just as deep as playing deep bass on 7.1 stereo. I will agree that the bass response is more impressive than the treble response.

* Speech/lyrics did seem a little flat at first, but after 24 hours of continuous play as recommended by jBuds, the response did improve quite a bit.

* Playing a 384kbps MP3 on the iPhone 3GS (not the clearest of music players by far - I prefer the Samsung YP-* series) there was no hiss audible at high volume.

I've been looking for a good set of earbuds for months now and I've finally found some with the JBuds J2's. I went through about four sets and I'm glad I didn't spend a lot for any one set. I know with earbuds you get what you pay for but at the very least $20 to $30 dollars should be enough to get decent sound. But I've been diapponted. Lots of pretty colors and designs but cheap build quality and hollow sound. Not so with the J2's. These may not look like much, very plain, but the sound is full and even plus I have found them to be comfortable. Some say the highs are too bright but I haven't had that problem, in fact it has a certain richness I found lacking in other sets. I heard highs in Radiohead's Jigsaw Falling Into Place I didn't hear before but they weren't overdone at all. Bass lows are also done well. A song I use as a bass tester is Young Jeezy's Hypnotize because it has long deep continuous bass notes that swich keys within the bass range every few seconds. Some sets won't even attempt reproducing much of the lows but the J2's did it nicely.
I'm impressed with the J2's and their not even out of the break in period. I think these are a steal for under 20 bucks.

Customer Review: Exceeded My Expectations!!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Let's talk music! These earbuds are heaven! The fit is exquisite!! And, the range is phenomenal. I enjoy a wide diversity of music, so I experimented. From Metallica to Mozart, the sound is clear, crisp, and rich. Kudos, JLAB!!

Now, let's be ridiculously superficial for a second: the minimalist design of the package is smart ... clean, slick, and very memorable. Why does this matter? Well, if you're looking for a small gift, these make quite an impression BEFORE the package is opened! You don't even need to wrap them!! Lovely!!

And, before you buy this black pair, take a look at the HUGE selection of colors!! You'll be blown-away!! (I'm thinking about picking up the black/hot-pink pair for my DS!!)

Aesthetically speaking, JLAB gives customers what they crave: slick look, hot colors. More importantly, they deliver quality sound at an affordable price.

Love them!!

Customer Review: After one year time for a review!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been using these earphones for a year now at my job (5 days a week X 52 weeks X at least 5 hours per night) in a very noisy truck and trailer repair shop and they are still working and sounding GREAT. My job is very physical as I am either inside, underneath, on top of, and always very near and working on a trailer (eighteen wheeler variety) and I have no trouble keeping these phones in. I did replace the silicone inserts with others I had from some previously used headphones (not sure which brand) and they fit in my ear canals better than the supplied ones. I wear the cords over top then down behind my ears and coming together just below my Adam's apple where I use a rubber band to keep them together about six inches above the normal junction. I keep the cord inside my shirt (I wish it was a little shorter) and route it to my mp3 player which I carry in my right shirt pocket. While they don't keep all noise out they certainly reduce it to tolerable levels and I only have to play volume at about 75% to here my music. So to sum up I believe these to be very reliable and have sound reproduction that I am very pleased with for the price ($25 when purchased)!
