I've owned these speakers for a year and a half now and have never had a problem with them. I love the option which allows for AAA batteries or straight DC connection. The sound is good enough for anything I need and will fill up a good sized room.
The only things that I find problems with is:
-While the speakers turn off if you close them, to turn the speakers off while using DC power, you need to unplug the speakers to be able to actually close it.
-The carrying case fits only the speakers. It would be nice if there was a compartment/bigger bag that could fit the AC adapter as well as the stereo jack cable.
Otherwise, I would recommend these speakers...which may be unfortunately discontinued since the price has shot up at least 3x compared to when I bought them.

Wow, this JBL On Tour Plus Portable Speaker System is the best on the market and was under $55!! I'm really skeptical about these MP3 portable speaker systems. I tested a lot and found that those for $100 and more were nice with very good sound. These have outstanding sound! I haven't needed to turn them all the way up while in my backyard because they can be heard extremely well at about 60%. This seller, daviscompserv, delivered them within 5 business days - ahead of the time promised. This is by far the best deal I've made all year long!Customer Review: Fantastic tiny speakers

Okay, they're not tiny-tiny but certainly travel size. The case is about the size of a hardback book and easy to pack in the suitcase. This was recommended to me by a sound engineer from Harmon Kardon (a friend) and he was right--this is one powerful set of speakers for the size! Great sound quality, too. I travel a lot for business and this is an essential part of my luggage. Turns a hotel room into a party!Customer Review: Great sound!

I bought one of these for my MP3 and was greatly surprised at the quality of the sound. I also use the small rack (originally for a Sony PSP) as a place to put the MP3 player, and it fits perfectly!!! I purchased the JBL On Tour Plus specifically for my PSP. The design and styling match the PSP perfectly, and the included stand fits well. Nice tocuh on the stand are rubber pads to prevent scratches. Overall presentation is very good, case is sturdy, but bulky; quite a bit larger than the pieces are seperately.
Audio quality is good, volume wasn't as high as I expected, even on AC. Won't be using the On Tour as a stero for a loud party. Watching a movie sounds great, though. Can plug any MP3 player/psp/discman, etc. into it that has a regular audio jack.
Takes 4 AAAs, or included AC adaptor. Buttons are flush, vol up/down, both to turn off.
Would recomend for any PSP owner who wants to watch movies (or just listen to tunes). Audio is good, setup is very quick & easy.
