Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Ipevo Free 2 Black (with LCD Display) - Skype Certified USB VOIP Internet IP Phone

Customer Review: Exceptional voice quality
Summary: 5 Stars

I started using Skype when I moved 6,000 miles away from home. Talking from my laptop is cool, but I developed a real bad neck tension from instinctively moving my mouth closer to the microphone. Also when I'm in a cafe, where it's busy in the background and there's a bunch of strangers listening in, I can't really make the phone calls. So I decided I'd shop for a USB phone.

I stumbled upon the Free1 on a review of the Skype journal. The reviewer said this best-selling USB phone gave the user a full Skype experience, meaning better voice quality than a regular telephone. I also explored the wireless phones. I tried one, the linksys, but phone calls kept getting dropped. After reading reviews on cordless/wireless phones for Skype, I found out that Skype just doesn't support wireless, so you shouldn't waste $100 on them.

I got this phone and was truly amazed. It's true, when you make Skype to Skype phone, the voice quality is crystal clear, and much better than using a phone card on a regular telephone. The phone itself is wideband, which means it's 6 times clearer than a good'olde rotary phone. Better than my cellphone, too.

I ended up liking it so much I bought another one a few weeks ago for my sister, so that we, too, could talk for free (she's so cheap she doesn't even have a cell phone...). Love it! Easy to use, great voice quality.

Oh, and bonus: mac compatible.

Customer Review: What a great handset for Skype
Summary: 5 Stars

I finally found a handset I love! Skype is great but I was always unsure how many of the issues were Skype, the connection or the equipment. This is especially true because I always use a wireless connection through my laptop. This handset set that all straight! The handset fixed virtually all of these issues. I love it and my people at the other end say it sounds better than my landline or cell phone when I am away and I call them. Also, my mother who has 2 hearing aids is able to use this phone sound wise with no problems! She can adjust the sound to a level which works for her, she is 82. The record feature was also quite a bonus and very clever too! Even the cord is long enough! I am glad to give it 5 stars! *****

Customer Review: Great Skype phone
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm very happy with my FR33.2 handset. I was looking for an inexpensive, non-wireless handset to use with Skype, and it seemed like there were few options out there. The FR33.2 got good reviews from other customers, so I thought I would give it a try, especially as the price was below $50. It hasn't disappointed. I use it primarily for business calls, so sound quality is important, as well as seamless integration with Skype. The handset delivers on both accounts. I also like the fact that I can use the handset while still playing something on my computer's speakers - the audio stream is different for the handset and the computer speakers. This is a great option, and I'm very happy that they thought of it.

Customer Review: Excellent, Cost-Effective
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for an easy-to-use, inexpensive "Skype" phone for my PC, and this IPEVO fit the bill perfectly. At first I had some problems understanding how best to reconfigure my PC's audio defaults (the IPEVO was acting as my default speakers when I first installed it), but the manual and online help came to the rescue and now all is well.

I highly recommend this USB phone for anyone who uses SKYPE on a regular basis and who wants an inexpensive phone that delivers clear calls. There are certainly phones that deliver higher quality calls, but for this price, I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend this.

Customer Review: Nice!
Summary: 5 Stars

This thing is nice and slim, and sounds better than my mobile. Works seamlessly with Skype and has adequate cord-length to allow pacing range. I'd love a cordless, but apparently they haven't perfected that yet. I tossed the little weighted stand that came with it -- I just wrap the cord around it when it's not hooked up to my laptop.
