the 920 is the best model in i7 series..
relation price and performance its better than 940-950-975- etc...
if you overclock it ..you can go easy to 4ghz with good hardware..
i have an asus rampage ii extreme and noctua cooler..and it works great.. less than 45C in 4.1ghz....
i test it in sisoft sandra..and is the best..compare with extreme quadcore and i975.. processor that cost $1000!!!

Okay, this is perhaps the lowest speed i7 CPU on the market as well as the lowest price (top of the line is about $1,000 USD [eek]).
However, that Windows 7 and XP see it as an 8 core CPU is wild. Great performance at a respectable price.
Presuming the i7 doesn't go away in 5 years or so, you can "upgrade" to a faster i7 than this one when they come down in price.

AMD WHO? YOU CAN OVERCLOCK THIS ON THE STOCK CPU COOLER TO 3.6GHZ SAFELY(3.8-4.0 IS SAFE BUT TEMPS RUN HOTTER THAN I LIKE). AMAZON IS SELLING THE DO STEPPING VERSION(REQUIRES LESS POWER, LESS POWER EQUALS LESS HEAT). WELL IF YOU DONT HAVE A 1000 DOLLARS TO BUY A PROCESSOR THEN BUY THIS WITH A GOOD COOLING OPTION AND RUN IT HARD. SEE IF YOU CAN HIT 4.6GHZ. Perfect with an Asus P6T6 WS Revolution with 12GB of OCZ 1600 DDR3 makes this a great workstation. Have not had to overclock it yet as running on W7 Ultimate RC x64 it eats programs in gulps. If I were a gamer, I would have OC by now, but I am a worker bee and stability and speed are more than sufficient with over a dozen programs running this computer is still idling.
