Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Intel Core i7 Processor i7-920 2.66GHz 8 MB LGA1366 CPU BX80601920

Customer Review: Great CPU!
Summary: 5 Stars

Wonderful Intel processor. Runs very cool and can achieve good levels of overclocking just on air. It should be said I have not used the stock fan. Suppose higher overclocks are easily reached through water cooling.
Runs great on any application, and is a beauty for gaming if you have a nice graphics card. My only complaint might be the price I had to pay for it, but I am very satisfied now and do not think I will have to upgrade for a long time.
Highly reccommend for those demanding multitasking and good gaming performance. Also indicated for those addicted to overclocking. Very nice piece of machine.

Customer Review: simply amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

core i7 is the best, you can get better performance than the extreme versions of the quad cores. The included fan is not bad but i would advise to get a better one.

The only cons are the implications coming with getting a core i7 CPU, and that is new motherboard and DDR3 memory, which are not cheap at all, but definetely worth it

I personally recommend the 920 since the extreme version is just too much money and very few people can actually take advantage of the differences that come with that version, and the 940 doesnt provide an increase in performance that matches the price difference

Customer Review: All the computing power that you need, and very overclockable!
Summary: 5 Stars

This processor is awesome. Besides it has a 130W TDP, it stays very cool. This is the same processor as the Extreme Edition but with the multiplier locked. You can overclock it as the Extreme Edition and beyond that so easily (with adequate cooling)!

I have my Core i7 920 easily overclocked to 3.5GHz and the system is stable even under the highest loads. This CPU is very, very powerful! You don't have to buy an Extreme Edition! Simply buy this and overclock it (and save the money for a nice video card!)!

Customer Review: Careful opening the package
Summary: 5 Stars

The heat sink and chip are packed in the standard clam shell polycarbonate we're all used to, but the two halves are not glued together in any way. Make sure you open the package on a flat surface like a table top. If you try to slide it out into your hand in mid-air, the massive heat sink and the chip package will both end up on the floor.

On the plus side neither one was the worse for wear. Installed w/ASUS P6T, 6 GB DDR3 1333, ATI 4870/1G. It is blindingly fast.

Customer Review: most bang for the buck
Summary: 5 Stars

This was the easiest overclock on a CPU that I have ever owned. All of my other CPU were AMD's. I was an AMD fan for many years and still have great respect for them. About time Intel put the memory controller on the CPU. AMD was doing that forever. This overclocks to 4.0GZ on very good air cooling( never the stock cooler). If you go the water cooling route you can blow this thing up to 4.5GZ. Along with a good motherboard and fast RAM this is the gamers choice.
