Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core Processor, 2.40 GHz, 8M L2 Cache, LGA 775

Customer Review: Best proc out there
Summary: 5 Stars

Just received my Q6600 rev G0. Took out my old E4300 on the Giga 965P-DS3 and put in the Q6600. Vista booted up with no problem with nothing to do on my side.
Next I overclocked it to 3.15GHz. Stable with 4 Prime95 processes running. I could clock it higher but this is fast enough.

Highly recommended if you want to play Crysis at max setting.

Unless you are lucky enough to score on the $199 fry's BF combo deal. This is definitely the best deal for this processor. Can't beat amazon's no tax/no shipping.

Customer Review: Great Entry level Quad Core from Intel!
Summary: 5 Stars

This processor is a great entry level processor for those who want to prepare for the future. It may be the "baby" of the Quad cores, but it is not underpowered at all. Personally, I Have managed to overclock my Q6600 to 3.0Ghz, a moderate increase from the stock 2.4Ghz. However, make sure you have proper cooling before attempting to overclock anything. My processor has the old B3 stepping, which makes it run just a bit hotter than the C0 stepping. Great choice for any computer that needs to be able to multitask constantly. :D

Customer Review: Great performance and it's a Quad-Core!
Summary: 5 Stars

My last rig included an Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego (Single Core). Then I jumped from a single core to a quad core and it's a totally new experience!. Now I don't see my PC stuck in a task because of any reason. Those task just make a 25% of "full" load (they get stuck in a single core but it doesn't even get noticed). But now there's a new sheriff in the town and his name is Core i7. Let's see if you can afford it. Maybe you can afford the i7 920 but not the Motherboard+DDR3. I think my Q6600 is still a great bargain.

Customer Review: Excellent CPU
Summary: 5 Stars

This processor works flawlessly and runs cool even in a room that is in the mid 80s. It is much faster than my 3.6 Ghz Pentium 4 cpu that I replaced it with. I am running it on a Ga-x48-DQ6 Gigabyte motherboard with 4 Gig of Gskill memory in a VX4000 Thermaltake case with a Sapphire HD 3870 graphics card. The case has a large fan in the front and the rear and a mid size fan on the side and is a very cool running case. My girl friend has almost the same setup in the same case with the same cpu and it runs very cool too.

Customer Review: For the money the best bang for the buck
Summary: 5 Stars

I felt I need to leave a review. The q6600 is excellent and efficient cpu. For the money hands down the best not comparing to the newer 45nm processors. Price is kind of high for 3-4 years old cpu but what can I say, it is still selling!!! G0 is the marketing selling point of the Bad boy. If you cannot afford i7 this is your best choice. I overclocked this to 3ghz and it is absolutely smooth. Once one OC this processor it is almost par with the 900+ dollar quad.

Again Amazon!!! Great Job..!!!
