Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core Processor, 2.40 GHz, 8M L2 Cache, LGA 775Customer Review: Q6600 - Fan Broken Summary: 5 Stars
Hi,
The product shipped quickly and I had no issues with the CPU. The fan however was broken and did not register with the motherboard. Unfortunately, the $2 fan could not be replaced without shipping the entire package back. It just wasn't worth the cost and put me out for about a week until I could purchase another fan.
Overall, the company that I bought from was great, I just wish that they were a little flexible with their return policy.
As for the product, intel + broken fan? = :-(
Originally, I gave this product a 3.0, but raised it up because the chip has performed flawlessly over the past year.
Customer Review: Best non-i7 CPU Summary: 5 Stars
If you are looking for a CPU and won't buy the new architecture (i7) then this is it. This little thing will blow your daily activities and still be left waiting for more tasks to do. 4 cores means more processing power and multitasking capabilities. You can be downloading something, browser open, running virus scan, burning dvd and playing games.. all at the same time. This will also overclock like no other CPU, matching several other offers that are more expensive. This is the CPU to buy if non i7 build is in the table. Will still get it instead of a i7, because the small difference can't justify the hefty price tag for new ram and board.
Customer Review: Q6600 Quad Core Processor Summary: 5 Stars
First off, this processor went into my Dell replacing a PentiumD processor. What a difference! It has almost doubled the rating that Windows 7 gives (from 4.6 to 7.1 - OK, 66% faster). As for the seller, no complaints. He was very fast with a response to a question I had, the product got here in a timely manner and packaged very well. So far this processor has worked perfectly and was recognized by my system and Windows immediately. Maybe not quite up to i7 processing speeds, but this will extend the useful life of my system quite a bit. Very happy that I spent the money and happy that I don't have to drop $1000+ on a new system.
Customer Review: Good reason for come back to Intel.... Summary: 5 Stars
Incredible performance, it beat over 10k points in 3Dmark06, I have been AMD user for about 6 years, my last Intel was a Pentium III 550Mhz. LOL, but this processor model has a really intersting relation price/performance in comparision with AMD Phenom processors, I upgrade from a AMD X2 4400+ 939, and theres a huge difference in games like Crysis, Call of Duty 4, the new ones.
The LGA775 chip its a nice idea, processor without pins, nice and secure system, more realiable than the conventional processors wich have the small pins that could be broken.
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
Most people would save the $50 and go with an OEM. I basically tossed the fan that came with it in the corner and went with the ChillTec. I purchased the retail (Fan) vs oem (no fan) because of the warranty. With the retail (this product) you get the 3 year (36 months) warranty with the OEM product you don't. So for $50 more I will cover that base.
Make sure you get the G0 and not a model before it.
Intel has announced they will be making another $250 Quad core product the 9300 so I have no idea which is better between those.
