Este dispositivo recoge fielmente lo que se escribe en manuscrito en su receptor; la recepción es mejor si no está conectado al pc; las notas pueden guardarse y abrirse en cualquier computadora porque el archivo se guarda en formato jpeg; es verdaderamente sencillo de instalar en window xp sp3 y el decodificador transforma practicamente todo lo manuscrito y lo envia a un documento word; todo trabaja bien, es muy bueno este dispositivo, estoy fascinado con él; mas sin embargo, los pequeños clip que trae para sujetar las hojas son muy frágiles, se salen si se coloca muchas hojas, todo es plástico; el otro argumento es que el repuesto para bolígrafo es muy dificil de conseguir, porque es para mini boligrafos.Customer Review: Time Saver

My son is using this pen to save time and organize his school work. He seems to like it very much. The only thing that gave us problems was that the pen software kept needing to be re-installed. I would not have had the patients for this, but he is a bit of a computer nerd and figured out the problem. The great part is you only neeed to take the actual pen to school, as it records a certain amount of information in an on board chip, and then he down loads it to his laptop upon arrival home. This makes for great finals outlines. All and all seems like a great product.

Very good gadget to take notes during a meeting at work. People ask me about it and get surprised when they see the JPG image of what I wrote.
I was not very confident of using this pen a lot, because I thought that at some point the pen was going to run out of ink, but I found an online store and I got 6 refills within a week (total cost with shipping 13.2 Dls). Just google: Schmidt ® Mini Ball Pen Refill
The package only includes one ink refill. So consider buying extra ink refills when buying this pen.

The digital scribe when used connected to my Windows XP computer does provide mouse control writing or drawing. I did not use the pen for remote text recognition or with the provided recognition software. I use the pen for simple writing or drawing. Otherwise, I would have to use my mouse to do the sketching. The pen provides control. I gave 4 stars because I could sketch faster than the pen could keep up.
Overall, the pen is amazing, portable and takes up very little space.

The item is very helpful in digitizing handwritten notes. There is a bug in the MyScriptNotes software - the windows size is fixed, so the software can't be used on netbooks, or other small size monitors. Too bad, because it can be productivity booster for meetings, presentations, any other occasions where notes are taken.
