Customer Review: Works well - needs more detailed instructions

The product comes WITHOUT instructions and, sorry to say, the menu screens and drop down menus anre NOT intuitive. I bought two of these devices, one for myself to use to link to my cellphone and the other for my wife for linking to her printer.
It took only a few minutes to pair my cellphone with the bluetooth, but it took another half hour to set it up to find everything in the the phone.
A similar pattern was encountered with the printer. No more than 5 minutes to pair the unit with the printer. There were no instructions on how to set up the system to print. It then took me another hour of trial and error to finally find the menu item to create the printer link to be able to print. I really could have used an instruction manual.
In any case, once the setup was made everything works as advertised. Have not yet tested the unit for distance - should be interesting.

If you're looking for a cheep yet effective bluetooth adapter this is probably the product for you. There are smaller adapters out there that will be better for use on a laptop because they wont get snagged but for a desktop there is no reason to spend the extra cost. I was able to use this adapter in a medium sized apartment without loosing connectivity anywhere. Although I never tested the limits I will say that I had no problems with the signal travailing 20 feet through 2 interior walls which should be better than needed for 99% of all applications. You will not find much better than this (and probably worse) with the smaller adapters. This adapter is not too tall for standard usb port spacing but may be too wide for standard usb port spacing if you have a flash drive along side it which is another reason this adapter is best suited for desktops.Customer Review: Good value, works great with Vista

I bought this adapter after purchasing a new bluetooth smartphone. Looking at all the different adapters, I saw a lot of them had poor reviews, either due to range issues or support for Vista, or general driver support. This one had mostly positive reviews, so I gave it a try. It works fantastically. Within a minute or two, I had my phone synching with my PC through bluetooth. This is with Vista Ultimate 32-bit. No problems at all. No slowdown issues on the PC, and I'm not sure how far the range really is, but I was able to synch with my pc from two rooms away with no problems at all. I have not had any issues staying connected. Well worth the price.Customer Review: works fine with vista

I bought this item to upgrade my toshiba pc premium vista, which doesn't support bluetooth technology. Even though this version of the adapter doesn't include vista drivers (only Windows 2000/XP) they're downloadable from the manufacturer website. I use the adapter to pair up with a S9 motorola headset and the the conexion is ok, with no drops at all and a big range of reception.
The only drawback I find for this product is the lack of 'tap' for the adapter. It comes exactly how you see it in the picture, so it has no protection for the plug.

This was the second bluetooth adapter I have purchased, the first turned out to be junk. This product feels well built at first but does not have a cap and after rattling around in my pocket for 3 weeks the USB connection seems to be getting a little loose from the external case (it still is firmly attached to the internal parts). It still works great though, it has great range and has not let me down yet, I highly recommend this for it's durability(my pocket is not very nice to USB jump drives either).
