Customer Review: works fine, but don't trust the manual if using with vista

I second the positive reviews, but after spending almost a day to make it work with Vista (which, as many forums show, has its quirks with Bluetooth), I recommend the following: DON'T listen to the manual or download the latest software from the manufacturer right away. FIRST, just plug in the adapter and then follow the instructions that Vista gives you after the "new hardware found"-pop up appears, it will guide you through all the required downloads. I've used this often to access my cell phones. The software could be easier to use. It's not intuitive at all! It's mostly a trial and error operation. It only allows access to the photo and music sections of the phone but, it does make it easier to add information without having to have a brand-name software for the purpose.
Something corrupted my original installation and while trying to find a work-around it crashed my PC. Uninstalled, re-installed and works fine.

Great standard bluetooth adapter. I was looking for something with a little smaller profile to avoid the pen stuck in the side of your PC look, but this seems to be one of the smaller units.
I have used it with various bluetooth devices and works like a charm. There seems to be some latency when you are first picking up a device, but that may be just the bluetooth protocol part. Something to keep in mind as you consider other units.

I bought this to transfer pictures from my LG 600 Net 10 phone to my computer. Installation was a piece of cake with the drivers CD for Windows XP. Getting my phone to acknowledge the computer was more challenging- never having done this before. Once I figured it out the transfer was no problem. The only drawback I can see is that the dongle does not come with a cover or cap for the USB connection end.Customer Review: Works Great with Vista

The main reason I got it was to use my new Motorola H500 headphones with Skype, and everything works great. Range is good too. I also put pics and ringtones on my cell phone.
I'm using it with Vista Premium and there are no problems.
It doesn't deserve 5 stars because it is a little thick which makes it tough to put 2 flash drives next to each other.
