I purchased this unit for my 99 year old mother who has problems using the standard TV controller. She tried all the functions after I setup the unti. There was no disappointment at all. Only two comments from her - 1. Gosh this unit has a trigger finger. It responds so fast!
2."How do I turn off the unit after I push a button? Oh, it does it all by itself. NEAT!"

I care for my 87 year old Mom who has severe hand arthritis and isn't very good at electronics like many people her age. The TEK Remote is nothing short of a miracle. It's simplicity is uncanny and the perfect solution for her crippled fingers. It lights up and its white color makes it easy to find. Many times I find myself using it and even suggested it to a local "magazine" type TV show for others in the same situation. This is a great remote for people with limited cognitive function or poor vision. It is very limited in what it can do (on/off, channel up or down and volume up or down), but is just what I needed for my elderly mother, who was always pushing too many and the wrong buttons and causing the TV to shut off, or be on a channel that didn't work. Now she does not have this problem. I keep the main remote hidden, so when I go over I can use that remote with more functions.Customer Review: Blind Remote

This remote was purchased for a blind person. We needed something that did not have 100 buttons so that she could find the one she needed. This remote is great. Only the minimum of buttons and large enough for her to be able to distinguish the buttons from one another. I bought two, one for each TV in the house. I can see how this remote would also be great for a young child. The ship time was remarkable. Got it way sooner than expected. I got this remote for my elderly mom, who kept hitting the wrong button on her remote and messing it up. At first I thought the Hy-Tek remote wasn't going to work with my mom's TV. I followed the instructions to program it, and it didn't work. Then I stood right next to the TV and followed the instructions again, and it worked fine! This is perfect for an older person who is easily confused by standard remote controls. It's also easy to see.
